Chapter 6 The Masks Come Off

A/N hahaha Hello my lovely's! I'm sooo sorry for the MIA, recently I've been working more and then I've been doing my other story and then I've got new projects for some more monkey man stories! So I promise my hiatus was not unfruitful, you all will have your food. Anyway I hope you lovely's can forgive my absence! On to the chapter!

    You smiled at his enthusiasm as he started  rambling about the way his new bike rode. "It's super fast, which means you'll have to hang on tight to me my love! But don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you~Also! It lurches when it first starts...." Tonight will be interesting, that's for sure. Whatever you're trying to do Ao Guang, just know if it involves Li, I will hurt you more than you hurt him.
    
      The evening hours passed quicker than expected as you busied yourself with preparing. I don't expect Ao Guang to be civil if things go south. I can only hope nothing happens to Sun. Your hands were busy gathering your racetrack's monthly business revenue and activity sheet. Finding the documents, you filed them away into an envelope. Breathing out a sigh, you smiled at the arms wrapping around your waist. The same arms pulled your frame into a back hug; their face resting on your shoulder, peering down at the papers as they asked, "And may I ask, what my sweet is doing?"

      Turning your head to regard the curious masked face of your lover, you lightly laughed. Shifting your head back to the forms, you gestured before saying, "These, my love, are the raceway's formal business. Or to put simply, they tell us how much  money we make, the amount of racers, and the amount of bets that come in each week." Your eyes watch as your husband hums before he tilts his head and asks, "Alright, but why are you getting those?"

      His statement causes you to blink twice, your mouth opening and closing before you ask, "Darling, did you believe I wouldn't conduct business with Ao Guang at the meeting?" Without hesitation, Sun replied with, "Mmm, yes, why?" Closing your eyes with a heavy breath, you slowly say, "Sun, please tell me you didn't think tonight would just be chaos. I still plan on trying to be civil until ulterior motives were revealed." You watched as your lover childishly whined out, "But whyyyyy?! What's wrong with chaos?"

    You sniggered before saying, "I'm not saying there's anything wrong with chaos love, I'm just saying we can't start the night off with making Ao Guang want to kill us immediately. You can go crazy after he crosses us." Your husband grumbles before he quiets at your unamused look. He huffs before he sighs out, "Fine, I promise I won't do anything too drastic, but it's gonna be hard if they try to do anything to you." His arms tightened their hold around you as he spoke. Sensing his growing agitation, you turned around in his hold; your hands gently cup the metal side of his mask.
      
     Your eyes were soft as you gazed at his masked face. Smiling sweetly, you gently murmured, "Darling, I promise that you have the right to do anything if you sense something wrong." You watch as Sun leans his masked face into your palms; you heard him sigh out before he mumbled, "And this is why I love you." You softly chuckled at his comment before you heard small footsteps and tiny squeals. Both you and your husband turned your heads toward the noises to find the little ones. You watched as they started jumping up and down, yelling as they pointed toward the clock. Shit! It's already 7:30! We have to hurry!

      You panicked before yelling out, "Love! We have to go!" Sun nods his head as he excitedly shouts, "Don't worry my sweet! My new motorcycle will get us there in no time! And! It's always nice to be fashionably late!" You shook your head in amusement as you gathered the papers up. Your eyes dart left and right as you look for your mask. Where is it? I put it down for only a moment. The sudden sound of cooing drew your attention to the little ones; seeing them holding out your mask brought a sigh of relief out of you. Taking it from their outstretched arms, you gently kissed their heads as you said, "Thank you my little ones." They smiled up at you before leaving to play.
