This has to be a mistake.
A ruthless dream Thanos sent him.
The work of a madman it sure was, but it could not possibly be happening.
Loki could not believe it.
Thanos and his children, slaughtering Thor's people, only because he was finally on his mission to kill half the universe's population with the infinity stones.
He had fought back to back with Heimdall, and that kept them safe for a little while until the loyal Gatekeeper went down with a sickening stab and a loud grunt that sounded absolutely agonizing. It even made the god of mischief himself, cringe a little out of pity.
Loki, who had been distracted, sustained his broken ribs from Thanos' children in that moment whilst Heimdall's blood splattered onto his face.
Loki rubbed it off with his leathery sleeve and rolled on the ground.
Big mistake.
Proxima slashed at his leg because his injured ribs caused him to pause, but she allowed him to roll away because at that split second, Thor had come barrelling towards her direction, aiming for her head with his random weapon of choice.
Loki sent a transparent double to make sure Valkyrie had already left and continued to fight.
But he realized the fight was already over.
He must've passed out for a short period of time from exhaustion and blood loss, because when he got to his feet, shifting his body weight to his uninjured leg, it was only the Black Order that was left standing in place. Even his brother Thor, the almighty god of thunder that never loses his battles, was down.
Loki shut his eyes briefly and lifted his head a bit higher. He was currently surrounded by Thanos' children-the ones who hurt him until he was in a million broken pieces and screaming only because he could not do anything else.
Screaming for Thor.
Screaming for the Allmother to help him.
Screaming for Heimdall to see.
And screaming for Odin to come, and realize what he had done to him.
But none of them saw.
And none of them knew.
And Loki grew accustomed to his, he eventually liked it that way. Everyone saw him as a dangerous madman, not some little boy who enjoyed playing silly tricks on the people of his realm.
He composed himself, he could not let them see how scared he is. They saw how worn and tired he'd gotten over what felt like years of torture, but he was stronger now...
Whatever Thanos was saying, blurred into oblivion, and Loki didn't even realize when he answered. Because all that he can focus on in the present is how he'll survive this. Or maybe he won't. Maybe this is his noble end and he'll go to Valhalla. If he ends up in Hel... the goddess of death might end up dragging him back to the land of the living in that case.
But Loki is known for cheating death.
And death might not allow him to rest.
Especially since Death and Thanos have a whole love thing going on...
One thing's for sure, he needs to make sure that Thanos and the Black Order meet their end.
Loki realized that Gamora and Nebula weren't there... Thanos had many children, but he only bothered to remember the ones who walked into his cell, because their names were the ones that haunted him in his sleep-
