"so have you texted her yet?"

"no, i don't know what to say. i don't understand why i'm so nervous about this. it's no different than any other dates i have been on."

"what dates?"

"shut up sapnap."

"dude just text her right now. just say like hey or something."

"okay i'm gonna do it now before i chicken out and never do it."

dream scrolled through his contacts before coming across the one called "lia". beginning a new message, he types in "hey, this is clay." hesitantly, he sends it.

"okay, i just texted her."

almost immediately, he gets a text back. it read, "hi clay:) what are you up to?"

he smiled to himself and didn't realize how quiet he had been until he heard sapnap yelling into his headphones trying to get his attention.

"so? what did she say?"

"she said hey and asked what i'm up to. with a smiley face in it."

"oooh dude she's totally flirting with you."

"what the hell am i supposed to say back?"

"why do you suck so bad at texting girls?"

dream scoffed before quickly typing a message back to lia.

it took nearly two minutes for lia to respond to clay's question, leaving him feeling really on edge.

"shit, she's definitely trying to come up with a way to reject me. i'm such an idiot, why the hell would i ask her to LUNCH?"

"dude calm down, she's probably just freaking out like girls do whenever they get asked out."

and sapnap was right. lia was sat in her bed on the phone with katie while simultaneously texting clay back.

"OH MY GOD LIA JUST SAY YES ALREADY," katie screamed.

"katie i don't know! what if he turns out to be a dick just like anthony?"

"he won't. i haven't even seen this guy and i just know he's different. go out with clay, you need to start putting yourself out there again. i know you're scared after anthony, but you need to know not all guys are like him."

lia should have learned a long time ago to always listen to katie. even though katie makes dumb decisions for herself, she almost always seems to be right when giving advice to lia. so, she texted clay back.

lia threw her phone out of her hands as soon as she sent the text, telling katie she did it.

"yes lia! i am so proud of you, you don't even know. i think you're really gonna have a fun time."

"yeah, i hope so."
