Cassini's POV

Ah, Asteroid Belt — the main fear in every outer solar system spacecraft's path external outer solar system.  I'm not kidding; I wondered how Voyagers and Pioneers felt about going through the belt. Oh, and I was wondering about Galileo's feelings about that too. It's soon both Huygens's and my turn to go through it. But I am so worried, what if I will be crashed into the next Asteroid I see?

I am lost in my thought again. But luckily, A familiar female voice reached out to me again.
"Oh! I am so sorry for not calling you back a few months ago when I was supposed to do it during the Earth flyby! I am kind of..."

"It's okay, Cassini. You are too busy, collecting data for us. Don't worry. I am not going to scold you. I just want to check in with you. Is all system okay on your side?"

And Jean just jumped into the occasion again.

"Yep. All systems nominal."

"That is good to hear it."

Despite Jean just leaping into the occasion and helping out on that part, my worry about the Asteroid Belt was to an extreme level that I need to say it out as there is this feeling of 'uncomfortable' within me. Even the female earthling noticed it.

"Um? What's wrong, Cassini? Is there something that worries you?"

"Yes. About Asteroid Belt..."

"Ah. It's okay, the asteroid in the belt combined is smaller than our moon. So it's going to be okay. Speaking of asteroids...Cassini, you going to encounter one of them close. 1.6 million kilometres, to be exact."

*Phew~*  I made a sound of relief, hearing the sound of it made me feel pleased. But then my curiosity for the asteroid that I am going to fly by grows with each second, closer and closer to that asteroid.

"So what is the name of the asteroid I am going to fly by?"

"Masursky."

"Masursky?"  Right then, I received a signal from Jean again. It's had been a tough time for the last few months, but I finally managed to get out of my past and overcome my emotional anomaly. Jean, Dominique and Christaan were surprised by how I overcame them with only Huygens on my side — They never thought Huygens could make a decisive move like that. Jean now not just acts as my database, but she also acts as a communication channel between me and the mission control. As a result, she didn't talk as much as she wanted to. So getting a signal from Jean is now a rare thing to happen, and it's a blessing when it does happen.

"Jean! You have something to share?"

"Yes. I got data from Mission Control on information about Masursky. It's named after a Planetary Geologist that team up with many of your older brothers and sisters, even Voyagers and Vikings." What!? An Asteroid named after a team member who works on Voyagers, but how?! The surprisement and confusement of learning about the asteroid's name had been me wondered so much, but I need to stop it since it can lead to my systems overloading and overheating. Treat it as if it's a paradox of some kind.

"Um...How did the asteroid get its name?" My curiosity made the female earthling smile, she could feel my never-ending curiosity about the stars and beyond.

"I can explain, Cassini. The asteroid will have a temporality name before it got its official name. The reason that we are giving them a temporality name is that we want to make sure that we have information on the asteroid first before we can name them. So we gave them their 'Provisional Designation' name right after getting more information about them."
