The loud alarm from Aurora's phone wakes her up abruptly. She squirms around in the bed before finally getting up to start her day. As she makes her way to her closet she realizes she has a test today.

Aurora mentally sighs not wanting to do it. She picks out a cute outfit, along with some shoes.

After she got done picking out her outfit she went to the bathroom to do her skincare routine

After she got done picking out her outfit she went to the bathroom to do her skincare routine. With her fingers, she evenly applied the facial wash to her face. She didn't wash it off but instead started brushing her already white teeth.

When she finished she then washed off the facial wash. She grabbed some oils, putting them on her face. As she was doing that her mom knocked on the bathroom door.

"C'mon we don't have much longer, I need to get to work." Her mom, Jennifer said to the young girl.

"Okay, I'm coming," Aurora said. She finished what she was doing and headed out of the bathroom. She grabbed her phone and her backpack.

"Mom I'm ready." She said calmly. In fact, she was everything but calm. She was nervous about this test today. She always is. Tests to her are like life or death situations.

Aurora and her mom both got into the car, buckling the seatbelts.

"So," Jennifer starts, "the test is today, I'm expecting you to get a good grade. I don't wanna see a B on that paper when you hand it in to me."

"I know mom, you've told me this so many times don't you think I would have it memorized by now." Aurora snaps harsher than she anticipated.

"Watch your mouth, I'm not your friend." Jennifer snaps back 5x harder. Aurora then went silent. Tears pouring down from her eyes. Any time Aurora was angry she would instantly start crying.

It's always been that way, "get out we're here." Her mom says breaking the silence. Aurora gets out of the car slamming the door not thinking. Everyone stares at her in confusion.

Jennifer rolls down the passenger window, getting ready to yell at her. "Aurora, get in the car and try again. What is wrong with you."

She gets back into the car shutting the door. Aurora looks at her mom with annoyance. She could already tell today was going to be horrible. The young girl got out of the car closing the door more carefully this time. Her mom drives away as she starts to walk into the building.

Just as she gets to class the bell rings.

"Take a seat." The history teacher, Mr. Wilson tells Aurora. She sighs then sits in her assigned seat. Earlier in the year Mr. Wilson made assigned seats because he thought it was, quote on quote, "necessary."
