ʚ Kokichi Oma's P.O.V ɞ

I stared at the ceiling of my dorm room. I was laying down on the bed, Patches laying down next to me, curled up in a ball of fur.

Who's Patches? She's a cat that snuck in here some time ago. I found her a week after Kirumi's execution. I was roaming the halls and then I found a black cat with amber eyes staring at me quietly. She followed me back to my dorm and I've been taking care of her ever since.

I sit up, pulling Patches onto my lap and scratching the back of her ears.

The room was quiet. Kokichi thanked the silence. It was the first moment of peace he had had in a while. The killing game was getting on his nerves and it was nice to be able to afford the luxury of being serene just this once.

He felt his eyelids droop. When was the last te he slept? He can't remember. He closed his eyes, the movement on Patches's ears stopping. It wouldn't hurt to sleep for a bit, would it?

The screen of the television lit up, startling both Kokichi and Patches.

The purple haired boy shook the sleep off, tilting his head to look at the television. The monokubs appeared, announcing a new motive right before they started fighting.

Ignoring the fight going on, Kokichi got up, placing Patches back on the bed. He got his shoes on, leaving his dorm and directing himself to the gym.

He walked with muscle memory, his mind processing every scenario of what the new motive could be.

Opening the door to the gym, he looked around. There was no one inside, which made him relax just a bit. There was no need to cause a scene if no one was around. He walked inside, keeping his steps light.

People started to flood in some time later, all whispering to themselves and each other about what could be the new motive, fear evidente on some people's faces.

Some time after, the white n' black bear appeared. Monokuma started speaking right away.

"Welcome back you brats! I presume you all know why you're here?" He spoke cheerfully, as if there wasn't a killing game happening inside the facility at that exact moment.

Groans and scoffs were heard all over across the room. Kokichi prioritised staying awake than to do anything else, ignoring what the robotic bear was saying.

"... a special motive! Something we haven't ever done! I'm sure that it will bring more despair to you!" The purple haired boy tuned back in, the tiredness forgotten and replaced by curiosity. What could be so special that left Monokuma so excited?

"W-what kind of motive is this? What do you mean by special?" Shuichi questioned. It was obvious that he was nervous, it was rare for him to stutter after Kaito had puched some confidence into his head (literally).

"Earlier this morning, me and my cute little monokubs did some research on your families. We chose one of you and brought one of your family members here unwilingly so that they could to participate in this wonderful killing game." He said.

Horrified gasps could be heard throughout the gym. People were revolted with the fact that one of their Family members could end up in this horrible killing game. Maki sure didn't look bothered by the announcement though. It was quite obvious that she didn't have a caring family, or any family for the matter, who would let their kid murder willingly?

Kokichi had the same reaction as Maki. His family wasn't the best. His father, an alcoholic who had no notion of others feelings was left to rot in prison after almost ending his wife's life with an alcohol bottle. Not long after the poor mother was deemed too mentally unstable to take care of her children and sent to an asylum to ensure that she did not hurt herself or anyone arond her.

Kokichi and his older sister were sent to an orphanage after their mother was sent to te asylum as none of their distant Family wanted to take custody. There he met D.I.C.E and so on.

Te purple haired boy had tuned out after that. Monokuma probably wouldn't chose him, what was so fun about a mentally unstable middle-aged woman, a psicopath or a part-time nurse?

"...Well then Kokichi Ouma, why don't you come closer and try to figure out who I brought?" That startled the panta-loving boy. Seriously what was so interesting about his family? Ignoring all the eyes waiting for him to give out any kind of reaction, he aproached Monokuma, a playful smirk on his lips.

"Oh my! What is this? I never knew you were one for presents Monokuma! Wait let me try to guess. Is it my mom? No, no, wait! The nurse?"

Everyone was glaring at Kokichi, not beleiving how he could be taking this situation so playfully when it was his Family they were talking about. He kept ignoring the hostile stares focusing simply on Monokuma, awaiting for an answer.

"You are indeed right! I did not know that your sister was an ultimate, and one that participated on a killing game at that."

Kokichi blinked once, twice. He waited for Monokuma to tell him "It's a lie!". He forgot that it was his catchphrase, not Monokuma's.

"Eh?"

Monokid entered the room, throwing someone in with him. "Eep!"

Kokichi recognised the voice right away, how could he not? It was his beloved sister, the one that Always took care of him. The one who loved to tease him. The one he called Doc McStuffins all the time because she took care of his injuries. The one who promised to take care of him always and forever and kept the promise.

"Mikan?"
