Kokichi sighed. It was one of those times where he tried to be honest with himself. While it was quite difficult for him, as he had spent his whole life lying, he promised Mikan that he should try that, as a means to help him forget about certain urges that came crashing like a wave when something went wrong. He remembers the first Mikan found him doing what he calls a stress relief. Well, it wasn't the first time, he remembers countless times before being locked in this sick game where Mikan berated him for his coping mechanisms. While his memories were still fuzzy after his brain was messed with to create this Supreme Leader persona, he could remember countless things from his past, even if they weren't the most clear when he tried to focus on them.
Laughter started bubbling inside of him, and Kokichi couldn't stop the soft laugher that escaped him. He didn't really think of anything personally funny for him. Maybe it was the fact that his in-game persona was simply an extention of his self before this, before Danganronpa, as Mikan had reffered to it. He was a leader before everything, but with less exasperated plans and wear and less urge to lie, even though he did lie a lot more than the average person.
While he was an extention of his past self, he wasn't sure if anyone else was, after all, he was sure he hadn't even met them before the game. But those were just his thought and memories, he was just thinking to himself.
After his laughing fit had died of, a tired smile followed, fitting the dark bags under his eyes. What Mikan had said really helped him, thinking to himself about different topics really helped his mind drift off of his worries. He felt dizzy, being calm wasn't something he was used to. It made him feel lightheaded. It was a nice change.
He got up from the bathroom floor, stretching his arms and legs. Shivers went down his spine as he popped bones back in their place. He opened the door quietly as to not alert Mikan, who was sound asleep. It was the middle of the night and he was having one of his reacurrent mental breakdowns. It was more of a habit now, as weird as it may appear to anyone normal. He picked his shoes and an oversized hoodie to hide the scars on his arms and thighs and walked towards the door, kneeling putting them on once he reached it.
While he knew he had deactivated and taken away all cameras in his room, he couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. He was sure Monokuma made no move to add new ones, as it would raise the viewings with the curiosity of what was 'suspicious and playful Kokichi doing in his room after finding deactivating the cameras?'.
He shook his head. The purple haired boy knew it was something he usually felt, even if no one was watching him. Near the door was sitting Patches, her amber eyes being the only thing that gave away her position. She meowed, alerting her owner. "Ah, Patches, you startled me. What's wrong my lovely kitten?" Kokichi spoke hushedly, scratching Patches's chin. She closed her eyes and appreciated the affection for a split second before silently jumping up her owner's lap, almost making the boy fall over from his crouched position. She suggled there and seemed like she didn't have any intentions on leaving.
"You want to come with me? well" Kokichi inquired in a hushed tone. It would be risky if anyone saw Patches and he sure didn't want to deal with all of the questions he would get once everyone discovered about her - After all, secrets spread like wildfire everywhere and the only factor deciding how long the secret would be kept secret was the person holding it. Sure, Shuichi knew about her, but he knew better than to go tell everyone about anything he had learned. He wasn't someone that would go around showing something that was entrusted to him that easily, something that Kokichi liked and admired about Shuichi.
