When I found Tyler, during break, he was going through his locker picking out books and stuffing them in his bag. "Hey, you. Whatcha up to?"
He looked at me, smiled, "Hey!" and closed his locker, turning to look at me and swinging his backpack on his shoulder. "Just emptying out my locker of books I'm going to need at home tonight. How about you?"
"Well, Jordan, Cecily, Ophelia, and I are going to restart the History and Mystery club to snoop around the school and we were wondering if you'd like to join."
He looked at me for a second, confused brown and then interested purple painted his aura. "What's that?"
"It was a club that was in existence back when the school was still an all-girls school. We want to start it back up again so we can find out where that light comes from."
"What light?"
I explained the situation to him more in detail as we walked towards the front entrance steps to meet with the rest of the girls.
"Sounds pretty interesting. I'm in."
I whooped and pumped a fist in the air. "Yes! This'll be so much fun!" then I grabbed his arm, "Come on, we gotta tell the others."
He laughed and let me drag him along in a slow jog. We weren't far from the entrance when I went flying to the floor while losing my grip on Tyler's arm. "What the-?" I asked as I got up on my arms. I looked up and there was Damian, staring down at me. His aura still missing and a scowl on his face, but there was electricity in the air. An electricity running through my veins and I couldn't understand what was going on.
"What the hell's the matter with you, Damian?" Tyler said standing between us. I could only see Damian's limbs now, the rest of him was hidden by Tyler's broad shoulders.
"Get out of the way, Tyler." He snarled.
I got myself back up and brushed myself off. They were causing a scene and there were students starting to stop in the hall and stare at us. I put a hand on Tylers' shoulder, "It's ok, let's go." I whispered, trying to push him towards the door.
But Damian had a different idea and went to shove Tyler. He stumbled backward and stared at him bewildered. I became irritated. I didn't know what was up between the two of them, but I was the one who had the beef with Damian right now and I was going to stand up for myself, so I stepped between the boys and stared at Damian.
I felt the surge of energy fill me before I had even decided what I was going to do and I felt heat rise up within me. I always imagined that if someone else could see my aura, it would be glowing a bright white. I felt at peace within, and then I stepped forward. I put my hand on his forearm and felt a rush of energy fill me again. A tingling ran down my spine. Then I whispered just enough for only Damian to hear, "Stop. Go about your day. You have no problems here." He blinked once and then turned around and walked away.
The energy I had surged through me before I delivered my blow, was suddenly gone. I felt depleted and cold. I took a step back, shook myself, tried to calm my nerves, and act normally among the crowd that had formed. And then grabbed Tyler by the arm again and walked out.
"What the hell happened?" He asked as we went down the steps, "He just bolted."
I shrugged, "No idea, I asked him to please stop and that we didn't want a fight and I guess he had the same thoughts." I waved at the rest of the group, "Hi everyone." And the bell rang. There went our break. "Well, it was nice seeing you for about five seconds. See you later." I said, turning around and running up the stairs to get as far away from Tyler as I could.
