{Aakashi's POV}
As he watched his crush spike the ball down on the other side of the net after Aakashi had set it to him he slightly blushed admiring how strongly Bokuto had spiked, though it was to be expected from one of the top 5 aces in the country.
Though he knew he shouldn't, after all, Bokuto's soulmate was just over the net, he couldn't help it. He took a small glance at Kenma the Nekoma setter; who had returned to school earlier after taking headache medicine, drinking water, and sleeping a bit more; to see an expression that mirrored his own on the face of the smaller boy. One of love that he just didn't believe could happen.
Aakashi felt his heartache seeing Kenma in such a state and even more so when Kuroo Tetsurō, the Nekoma team captain and Bokuto's soulmate, turned to him and he smiled a small smile which Aakashi could see was fake, though Kuroo didn't.
Aakashi shook his head at the blindness of the older boy and went back to playing. In the end, Nekoma had one this match. He went over to stand next to Bokuto while he talked to Kuroo. He shook his head closing his eyes and opened them when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. When he opened his eyes he saw Kenma standing in front of him blushing and looking down to avoid eye contact with Aakashi.
"Kenma's kinda cute...-WAIT, WHAT NO!" Aakashi mentally scolded himself for thinking such a thing and went on to ask what Kenma needed.
"So...do you need something?" "Oh sorry I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday, even though we are about to head out to celebrate with Bokuto and Kuroo", Kenma replied slightly embarrassed. "Oh! Well, thank you." Aakashi answered, slightly surprised Kenma of all people had come over to wish him a happy birthday. "It's nothing, now let's get going..." Kenma replied, sounding tired.
❀~Time Skip~❀
The 4 had gone out to a nearby cafe to celebrate when Kenma had asked something. "Hey, Aakashi...?" "Hmm?" He replied looking up from the muffin he was previously eating. "When do you get to talk to your..you know...soulmate?" Kenma asked, tilting his head slightly looking at Aakashi.
"O-oh should be any minute now," Aakashi replied looking at the clock hanging on the wall. And that's when the square mark on his wrist glowed faintly showing that he now had formed the connection to his soulmate that allowed him to talk to each other through writing.
"...Well...anyone got a pen?" Aakashi asked looking up at the group.
