{Kenma's POV}

Why...why must I always get my hopes up just for them to be crushed...why! Though I wanted to be happy for the three people who just discovered they were soulmates, and I truly did, I just couldn't.

Though I was smiling a fake smile ever so faintly it wasn't as if it would matter seeing as no one was even paying attention to me. Instead, they were engrossed in their own little conversation completely shutting me out.

I understand though...they're excited and I'm not exactly the most lovable person. I mean look at me I'm weak, small, ugly, fat, annoying, difficult, and just all around incapable of being loved....

He set down money to pay for his dessert and drink as well as enough for a bit of a tip, then he got up silently saying goodbye softly and leaving the cafe.

{3rd Person POV}

Kenma's goodbye had been missed by the group as Bokuto was talking quite loudly, while Aakashi was looking at him, and Kuroo was laughing. Though when they had calmed down from the initial shock of each other being soulmates Kuroo wiped a stray tear that had formed in the corner of his eye from laughing so hard he had noticed Kema's chair was empty and some money tucked under the half-empty drink.

"Did KenKen leave?" Bokuto asked when he noticed that Kuroo's eyes had strayed over to the once occupied, now empty, the seat of the dual-haired Nekoma setter. "Oh I- I guess he did "came Aakashi's slightly disappointed comment.

"Wonder why...?" Kuroo questioned lifting the cup and removing the money from under it. He felt as if a small piece of his heart had just broken, which confused him slightly. After all...it's not like they were dating. Kenma's just a friend.

"Oh well, maybe he had something he had too or wanted to do today? I should start heading home myself though" Aakashi said, glancing at the clock. "Aww well, I guess you are right Aagashi" Bokuto agreed grabbing his hand and using the other one to wave goodbye to their other soulmate, who waved back smiling.

It had started to slightly rain which only added to Kenma's bad mood. When he finally reached home he was relieved to see his mother and father were both out at the moment. When he went inside and to the bathroom off his bedroom and hopped on the scale.

"Oh...the numbers went up again..." Kenma's voice sounded hollow and somewhat distant as he said those few words still looking down at the numbers the scale had presented to him.

Putting the scale away behind the toilet and opening a drawer there sat what looked to be sticky notes each with a number lower than the last time.

Kenma sighed as he took his shirt off to reveal a thin boy with bruises on his skin and dull tired eyes.
