At last we reached home. I grabbed the keys from my father, and as soon as the car came to a stop, I jumped out and went to open the door. I was listening to the cricket's noise.
As I was struggling for the key to enter the lock in the dim light, something hit me on the head. I don't know what it was, I didn't see it, but whatever it was- it hit me really very hard. I staggered a bit, my head was spinning and I was unable to see properly. I lost all my senses for a brief moment.
Seeing me swaying father rushed up to me and took the keys from my hand. He opened the door and half carried me in. I was still unable to process what happened. I said,
"I am fine. ......I am going to my room."
I talked in short and simple words, my head still throbbing loudly. I wobbled upstairs and went to my room. I closed the door behind me. I then lay down on my bed and waited for the pain to subside.
I started feeling better as the throbbing died and the pain was diminished. Keeping my head on the pillow, I revised what just happened -
* I was opening the door sleepily. Check.
* Cricket's noise. Check.
* Out of nowhere something slams my head. Was not on the list ..but Check.I went to the washroom and splashed my face with clear, cold water. The cold liquid wakened my nerves and my brain was able to function sanely. I then went to my desk staring at it blankly....still a bit dizzy.
I started shuffling through my desk, finding the things I had to take to school tomorrow. I packed my back slowly. As I finished, I slowly turned to go and change in my night dress; taking a last glance at my table.
After half a minute I realised that on my table, there was a thing that was not supposed to be there. I looked back again on the desk, peering on it carefully.
I spotted a...a...thing. It was something translucent- transparent.... It was reflecting light and was glimmering faintly.
I studied the faint glow very closely and properly. I couldn't understand from seeing that what it actually was.
I stretched my fingers towards it, hesitating a bit.
Just when I touched it, it turned into green colour. I was shocked and pulled my hand back. I registered it for a while. Then, taking a deep breath, I again took my hands towards it again. As before, it turned green on my touch but this time I picked it up.
I started examining it. It was light green in colour, and was circular in shape- about six centimeters in radius. It was shining brightly on my palm, emitting an aura of neon green.
It was sleek, smooth, flat and thin. It was made up of concentric rings, each ring about two centimeters thick. They joined to form that flat disk.
In the middle there was a hole, large enough for my one finger to fit.
I still couldn't understand what it was. Where did it come from? Why was it here?
I was confused and my mind was clue less. I had no idea what I had in my hand. I was too shocked to think anything.
Then suddenly...I was blinded by a flash if light that came from it. It was so bright that its brightness stunned me even through my shut eyes.
I blinked for a few seconds till I regained my sight. After a moment I looked at it again.
What I saw next, just left me staring and gawking.
