Darkness...

That's all they could see. Inkiness all around wherever they looked, no light, no sign of any way out. Yet, they kept running, that's all they knew. Running as fast as their short legs could carry them to matter how tired they are. Growling was heard from within the far abyss. The only problem is; where is it coming from? The growling echoed causing the very ground to rumble as if a powerful earthquake struck. The perfect fell to their knees, panting and crying from the fear and adrenaline boarding through their body, they had to stand up, they must it's the only way they could survive. They slowly stood their feet the feeling of their legs giving out with each movement. The air suddenly felt thinner. Any strength that the prefect had left vanished from their body, they collapsed onto the cold, hard, dark, uneven ground. Their legs felt lifeless and numb unable to move their toes trapped in their shoes. Their arms were worn out by the weight. The prefect laid on their back starting up at the abyss above them.

The thunder-like growl drew closer and louder as what sounded like hooves beating against the unseen pavement. They heard heavy breathing, but it wasn't coming from them. They felt a presence hover above them, although they couldn't see what it was, they know it's there and it sure as hell knows it knows where the prefect is. They closed their eyes and turned their head to the side showing that they surrender to the beast on top of them. They felt cloth-like material tickle their cheek. Out of pure curiosity, the prefect turned their face upward and opened their eyes.

They immediately regretted that decision. For what unknown reason, they can see an outline of cloth surround them as if they're under a table, but that is not what sent chills down the reflects spine; above them was a pale face with a wide, sinister bloodstained smile showing off yellow and brown stained razor-sharp teeth. The lips were chapped and peeling away from the skin around the mouth. The eyes were huge with incredibly tiny black pupils that stared into the prefect's soul. The skin around the eyes coated dark red with spots of blue and black as if it's been beaten in the face far too many times. Its hair was black and matted with locks sticking out in every direction. The perfect didn't scream but their breath hitched. The beast's mouth wiggled slightly before laughter erupted from it. It was mocking them for being scared and running away. It mocked them for giving in to what sadistic fate was laid out for them. It mocked them for being weak.

The laughter came to a halt, its eyes never leaving the prefect, up but the smile turned into an angry frown. The prefect felt their heart race as they started back at the monster. A sinister silence overcame the intense atmosphere and lasted for only a minute before the beast unhinged its jaw revealing several layers of teeth and saliva that dripped from the mouth. The perfect didn't even have time to react before the beast sank its teeth into their face.
