A·pol·o·gy/əˈpäləjē/noun: A regretful acknowledgment of an offense or failure.

Outside, the blue sky laid still as groups of clouds pass by, occasionally covering the sun for a few seconds. Apple Poison dodged his way through the busy street trying to keep up with Jack Hearts, who was only a few feet in front of him. Apple tried to call out to him but each time he did, it seemed like Jack picked up his pace. But Apple wasn't going to give up so easily, the man followed Jack all the way to the park. Once Poison reached the gate, he saw Jack waving and walking up to a girl under a large tree, The girl had blonde hair, she wore a blue dress and an apron. She was sitting in a crisscrossed position with a picture book in her lap. The girl waved back as Jack sat next to her.

"Oh it's Alice," Apple said in dismay. Seeing how she and Jack are already in deep conversation, Apple decided to jump into a nearby bush to eavesdrop.

Jack leans against the trunk of the tree and lets out a heavy sigh. "Is there anything wrong, Jack?" Alice asked. Jack bites his lip, he can trust Alice to keep his secrets. Besides Dalmatia, Alice is Jack's closest friend so naturally, they tell each other everything.

"Yes Alice," here goes nothing, "have you ever fallen for someone?" Alice lightly jerked upwards then closes her book.

"What a peculiar question," she thought for a moment, "No, I haven't, why do you ask?"

"No reason,"

"Jack, are you in love with someone?"

"Y-yes."

"Oh, I knew it!" Alice claps and moves closer to Jack, "who is it?" Jack begins to rethink his choice of mentioning his feelings about his rival to Alice.

"Someone I knew since we were kids. We used to be great friends back then..."

"Buuuut...." Alice stressed.

"I don't know what really happened. Maybe it was puberty or some other thing, but out of nowhere, we started to drift apart. Next thing I knew, we start fighting over everything, even the little things! The worse part, I don't even know how to tell him how I feel." Jack takes his hat off and crosses his arms. Alice puts her index finger to her chin.

"So is it Apple Poison?"

"Yeah- No!" Jack shouts. Alice giggled at his reaction, "How do you know that?"

"You have such a dazed look in your eyes every time you talk about him"

"No, I don't"

"You never notice it, but you do!" Alice opens her book again, this time to a page on how to make a poisoned apple.

"Okay fine! But, none of it will matter."

"Why not?"

"I don't think he likes me back, at all." Jack sunk in then rested his head on Alice's shoulder. "Farja told me to ask Apple out, but I don't know how to. I mean, I thought I knew."

"I may have an idea!" Alice declared, she lightly pulls Jack closer so she can whisper in his ear. Jack listened carefully to every word from her (every now and then his face lit up in excitement). Alice pulls away with a smile.

"Alice, you mad genius!" Jack stands up and picks up Alice, bridal style, turning around and around.

"Thank you! Now please put me down, I think I'm about to be sick." Jack does so, then he felt small raindrops fall on his cheek.

"Oh dear, it's about to rain!" He holds his arm out, "Why don't I escort you home, Alice?" Alice picks up her book and loops her arm around Jack's then the duo left the park
