"Ms. Scatter I would like a word with you." Apple Poison said. Ms. Scatter gulped and faced him.

"Sure Apple, what is it?" Scatter didn't know why but at the moment, she felt anxious. She could see in Apple's eyes that he's not happy with the results of the partnership. She peered over to see Jack Hearts still sitting in his seat with a panicked expression on his face.
"Before I go have a little chat with Mr. V," Apple inhaled then exhaled, "Why?" Ms. Scatter opened her mouth, then closed it again. Jack groaned.

"Who cares, really? Let's just get this over with." Jack's statement surprised both Scatter and Apple. They expected him to be whinier about it. Jack stood up and walked over to the two, "Are there any specific details we should include for this haunted house?"

"Nothing as of now," Scatter replied.

"Okay then!" Jack said with much devotion. Apple had no choice but to comply. Ms. Scatter was pleased by this.

"Alright! I'm counting on both of you!" With that, Ms. Scatter collects her belongings and leaves the meeting room, leaving just Apple and Jack. Apple slowly turned to Jack, who was taking off his hat, showing his wavy brown hair, and dusting off whatever invisible dust it had.

"Since we're stuck together, I might as well-"

"Stop right there," Apple held up his hand and interrupted, "What do you think you are doing?" Jack tilted his head innocently.

"What do you mean?" So that's how it is...

"You were acting weird just now,"

"No, I wasn't ."

"Yes, you were."

"It doesn't matter, I have ideas for our haunted house, Candy Apple." Apple Poison cringed at the nickname. It used to be an innocent name for Apple when he and Jack were only kids, but now it sounds weird and inappropriate.

"Can you please stop calling me that?" Apple asked, well demanded. Jack smirks.

"Why? You used to love that nickname, Candy Apple." Jack steps closer to Apple. Apple stands straight and looks down on the shorter male. Since the hat is removed, Apple is able to see Jack's luscious hair that he always hides. Apple examined the wavy locks; each strand was light, shiny, and healthy. The temptation to touch Jack's soft hair began to grow as Apple tuned out whatever nonsense his rival is speaking about.

"So, we could either meet at my place this weekend or..." Jack quiets down as he realized Apple was staring at him. "Um, why are you...HEY!" Jack shouts as Apple raised his hand and ruffles his perfectly styled hair.  Just as Apple thought, Jack's hair is pretty soft. "Apple! Stop!" Jack slapped the taller male's hand away and glared at him. "Now you're the one who's acting weird."

"Sorry, I don't know what came over me," Apple explained. Jack puts his hat on again.

"Just come over to my place this weekend, alright?" Jack huffs then walks towards the doors. Apple watches him as he leaves the room. He waited until the coast is clear then let out a frustrated groan.

Why? Why does this happen to me?! Apple Poison screams internally. As mentioned before, ever since they were kids, Apple felt a weird sensation in him when Jack comes around. It's embarrassing and weird and unfair that only Apple feels this way.

That's why Apple loathes Jack Hearts. Only he can cause these abrupt emotions in Apple. And the worse part, Jack doesn't even realize it (or at least Apple thinks he doesn't).
"Just breath Apple," he told himself, "You'll be fine." Apple grabs his folder and leaves the meeting room.
