Waves crashed onto the uneven border of rocks, that separated water from a cliff. I slowly walked to the edge and allowed thin wisps of water to strike me. The sky was a canvas of grey, with tiny droplets of rain beginning to fall.It was the absence of sunlight that lured me out here, that bound me to the coast.I looked up and let the rain replace my tears as my vision grew blurrier and blurrier. But the only thing that was clear for me in this void of death was the sky.I saw hope that something would pull me away from my approaching death.I had started to embrace the darkness, I started to live for the cold and the pain.It brought me joy, like a guilty pleasure.I felt like a puppet, with a dark master controlling my every limb.Forcing me into a world, that slowly tears me apart. Slowly and subtly.Life was in an eternal midnight, life was what plucked me, an innocent soul from the day. From the light.Sunny warm afternoons were all foreign to me, all I knew were cold nights of blood and pain.If this all comes to an end, if my shadows decide to let me free, I don't want pure light, I'll burn. But just a cloudy, rainy day would be what I would keep fighting for.
