you know I'd love you for all of eternity, and when you left I was anything but ready

"Do you ever think about us?" He asked suddenly. The howling wind seemed to quieten down between them. His eyes were still transfixed at the Great Lake, his gaze almost wistful as he waited for her to reply. "Of course I do. I think about how we danced in the rain until we were drenched right after senior prom. I think about how we stayed up all night talking about college and our ambitions. I think about how we sat together underneath the willow tree and said our first I love you's. But you know what I think about most?" It seems, for them, this is how it would always be - like the sun and the moon - their timing would always be a little off. And they knew that. But it didn't deter them from letting the other own their heart completely. After all, the moon waits for the sun everyday, and so shall they.
