Dream was panting, hard. He heard a sound on his right and fired an arrow in the general direction, that was easily dodged by his opponent. He didn't know how, but Nightmare had found him again, and he had brought his entire gang with him.

Dream was alone in this fight, and he was starting to run low on magic. Fresh cuts and bruises littered his body by now, but his opponents didn't even seem to be trying.

He really wants to kill me this time, doesn't he?

Dream fired another arrow at Killer, who simply teleported out of the way, and tried to quickly make a plan. If he kept fighting like this, he would tire himself out, and Dream knew that this was exactly what Nightmare wanted. He was already too low on magic to open a portal, unfortunately.

Blue was in his AU, spending time with his friends today, so he couldn't contact him. He couldn't contact Ink either, no, he didn't want to. Not after that argument they had. He was certain Ink was still mad. So then what-

"Aim... SOUL..."

What?

Dream blinked, quickly glancing around to find the source of the voice.

"Trust... It'll... okay..."

"Giving up already, Dream?" Nightmare taunted. "Well, don't worry. That's perfectly fine. The boys and I have already prepared a room for you to stay in once we get home. So why don't we stop fighting and you come with us?"

"N-never!" he retorted, firing an arrow at Nightmare. This time his aim was true, and he hit Nightmare square in the chest.

Dream watched in horror as he fell back, and his gang circled around him. He didn't mean to harm his own brother like that!

Dream took a step forward, wanting to help him before he felt a light tug on his arm. He looked over and saw a shadow in an alley. It beckoned him over.

Dream felt himself hesitate, glancing back at Nightmare again. The wound had almost closed up, although Dream had no idea what the condition of his SOUL might be. The gang seemed to be healing him well though, and they certainly wouldn't want Dream around after this. It'd be better to leave Nightmare to them.

He looked back at the shadow. It was still waiting, although it seemed tense. Dream wasn't sure if he trusted it. What if it was someone who wanted to hurt him? He couldn't even sense its emotions.

Well, if it did kill him, Nightmare would finally get what he wanted and be happy, and Dream wouldn't be able to... harm him like that ever again...

He wouldn't cry. He couldn't. He was the guardian of positivity.

So Dream took a deep breath and stepped towards the shadow. Once he got there, it reached out a hand to him, which he took, albeit, hesitantly, and let it lead him out of sight, at which point, it let go. It continued to lead him, to where Dream did not know.

Now that the adrenaline was gone, he had realized just how much his body hurt. Though it made no move to help him, the shadow was patient, waiting for him every time he had to stop. He still had no idea what it was. Its silhouette was a bit hard to distinguish.

"W-where... are we going exactly?" he wheezed out at some point. The shadow stopped, turning to him, and shrugging. "You don't know?"

"We're... stalked..." it mumbled, and Dream felt his eye sockets widen.

"You're that voice! The one that told me to shoot Nightmare!" It nodded slowly.

"Not... mad...?"

"I'm not mad... just upset that I hurt him." It seemed confused but interested at the same time.

"Nightmare... he's my brother. Our history is... complicated, so I won't bore you with the details."

It nodded before it began walking again.

"So... are we just walking around until we lose this 'stalker?' B-because I'm really tired..." It turned around.

"Wait..." it said, before disappearing. Dream sat down, leaning back against the wall, letting his head drop onto his knees as he waited for it to come back.

Eventually, though, his exhaustion caught up to him, and he felt himself drifting into darkness.
