Kiyoomi briefly entertained the idea that this was all Komori's fault. Which, surprisingly, made him feel worse about the situation.

As sad as it was, his cousin was his best friend. In fact, Komori had been his only friend for years.

The fact that he hadn't spoken to him in weeks was probably what caused Kiyoomi to call Komori at the ass crack of God-knows-when as soon as he got back from that dumb afterparty.

"Komori, there's been an emergency," He whispered as soon as Komori picked up the phone. "Come over. Soon. Bye."

Apparently 'soon' meant 'a reasonable time the next morning' to Komori, which did not help the constant mantra of 'oh my god, my life is over' going through Kiyoomi's head.

"Please explain to me what was so important that you had to call me at three in the morning? I had an early class today." Komori said when he closed over Kiyoomi's door.

Kiyoomi grabbed his duvet and threw it over his head with a groan. "You're gonna make fun of me."

Komori sighed and sat at the end of Kiyoomi's bed. "Did you think you had diabetes, again?"

"Can you drop that?" Kiyoomi snapped, and removed the duvet from his head. He sat up in his bed with his arms crossed. "Let's be friends again so I can tell you all my problems."

Komori smiled brightly, "I dunno," He said with a shrug. "I was kind of enjoying life without you."

"Don't," Kiyoomi kicked Komori on the thigh. "I hate you."

Komori laughed, "I thought you wanted to be friends again!"

"I do, but you're annoying me," Kiyoomi pulled his knees up to his chest, and pressed his forehead against them over the duvet. "Life sucks."

"Okay, fine," Komori muttered. "Why does life suck?"

The idea of coming clean to Komori was almost unbearable. The teasing he'd get for the next twenty years would be constant, and the humiliation that Kiyoomi would feel admitting that he faked a relationship was just too much. But this was a national level emergency.

"I'm pretty sure Atsumu likes Hinata," He said with a groan, and almost face planted into the wall.

He watched Komori's eyes widen a little. His eyebrows rose in shock, and for a moment the cousins stayed silent.

"Are you sure?" Komori asked after a while.

Kiyoomi nodded, "I'm almost certain," He replied. "He's always overly affectionate with me when Hinata's around. It's weird."

He hoped that he was reading into it. He hadn't asked Miya yet why he decided to fake date Kiyoomi, because up until now he didn't think it was any of his business.

But now Kiyoomi had an ugly, fat crush on Miya, so he wanted to know  (even though it definitely wasn't any of his business).

"Maybe he just wants his friends' approval?" Komori suggested. "And if he liked Hinata why would he be more affectionate with you?"

"Well, if he's trying to make Hinata jealous then that's exactly what he would do," Kiyoomi watched Komori smile, and he knew exactly what question was coming.

"Why would he date you to make Himata jealous?" Komori asked. "And why aren't you more mad about that, instead of his maybe crush on Hinata?"

Kiyoomi glared at him with the heat of a thousand suns. "I fucking hate you."

"Hmm?" Komori cupped his ear and leaned closer, "Sorry, I couldn't hear you."

Kiyoomi felt his hand twitch, and he almost gave in to the urge to slap his cousin right on those disgustingly round eyebrows. "Because we're not dating."
