You were (y/n) Granger, Hermione's fraternal twin. Though you two did look very similar, the biggest difference was where she had wild curly hair you had (h/t) (h/c) hair you kept neat. You were more wild and carefree, she often had to scold you along with the boys to get you to study and do your homework.
You were now in your fifth year and she was made a prefect which made her all the more bossy. You let it roll off your back though knowing she was just caring for you.
You were hoping this year wouldn't be as hectic as last. Watching Harry in the tournaments had been awful. But that didn't seem the case as you Ron and Hermione stayed at the Orders headquarters.
Hermione rushed in.
"You'll never believe it (y/n)! Harry and his cousin," she said scanning a parchment in her hand.
"Doodly what's it?" You stated not looking up.
"Oh sure it's not the point anyways, they were attacked by demonstrators in his neighborhood!" Your head shot up.
"What?! Is Harry okay?" She nodded
"I assume so since he wrote us,but he is in some trouble with the ministry now. He used magic to get them to leave him alone and well...you know the rules. He may not be able to attend Hogwarts anymore.." your stomach lurched.
School without Harry? You couldn't bare the thought. Your eyes started to sting as you sat on the bed.
"(Y/n)? Are you alright? I know it's upsetting but I didn't think you'd take it this hard. He is okay. I'm sure he'll get the stuff sorted.
"Hogwarts without Harry won't feel like Hogwarts..." you mumbled.
"Honestly (y/n) what's got you li-...you like him don't you!" She claimed suddenly making you blush.
"What? Of course I don't!" You turned back to folding your close as if it was a ridiculous idea.
But you did like him.
Your heart longed all summer to see the way his green eyes scrunched up when he smiled.
"I won't tell him, I know it's hard...to like your best friend." You knew she was talking about Ron. You both sat it silence for a moment, understanding each other with no words.
The time seemed to fly by where it would otherwise trudge slowly. Before you knew it Harry was back in school, but it was far from an easy year. There was a new defense against dark arts teacher,Umbridge, that had it out for Harry, and the papers kept making him out to be a bad guy.
You rushed through the empty halls in the invisibility cloak, not bothering to be quite. Umbridge had Harry in detention again but it had been hours and you had a bad feeling about her.
You saw Harry exiting the classroom at the end of the hall. You slowed your pace, taking him in. His bright green eyes seemed to be so clear. He held the back of his hand as he started to walk towards you making your heart race. You remember he couldn't see you as he stared straight through you.
"Harry!" You whispered into the empty corridor. He did a turn around looking for the source of the voice
"I'm in front of you." You whispered again. His face twisted in confusion before a devious smile took its place. He blindly reached in front of him till he felt the silk at his finger tips. He pulled at the cloth and slide under it, he stood close to you to make sure the cloth covered you both completely. You blushed at this, hoping he couldn't tell.
"What are you doing out (y/n)?" He queried quietly as you both began to walk back to the common room.
"Well I wondered what was keeping you. I got worried I suppose."
"Worried? What for?" You played with your hair trying to convince yourself to tell him how you felt. Even if he didn't like you back he wouldn't hate you. You couldn't stand the weight on your chest.
"Well I just, I notice when you come back from detention you're always holding your hand. I thought she might be hurting you. I thought I could catch her in the act." He shook his head at you words.
"Don't worry about me (y/n), that will only get you in trouble."
"As if I could just stop." You replied instantly, before you could stop yourself.
"What?" He turned to you, brow furrowed with confusion.
"I mean you're one of my closest friends. I'm supposed to ignore you in trouble." He sighed turning away. You took the opportunity to sneak a peak at his hand. It was bleeding, the words 'I shall not tell lies' carved into the skin.
You couldn't contain the gasp that left your lips.
"Harry!" You cried out quietly, gently grabbing his hand and stopping your steps.
"She did this to you?" You turned his hand softly looking it over. He flexed his fingers a bit, you looked up at him to see him too staring at his hand. He took a sharp breath and nodded, retracting his fingers. "I'm sorry, I didn't want you to worry. You weren't supposed to see I mean..." He gazed into your eyes making your insides knot up.
"Well nice going ya prat," you scoffed at him. "All you managed to do was worry me more, and force yourself to go through this alone." Your hand continued to play with his fingers and he smiled before you realized, you blushed letting go of his hand.
"Let's get back before the fat lady get so fed up she snitches us out."
"Wait," Harry grabbed your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours. "Y-your cold hands feel nice. I've been writing for hours." He spoke softly suddenly loosing confidence. "That's alright isn't it?" He suddenly blurted. You smiled and nodded and continued your trek.

That felt like ages ago.
Now you stood in the Ministry of Magic. You could see things moving, see Harry screaming. You were tied to a post, used as leverage along with Ron and Hermione to get him here. Always the hero. You cried out to him, letting him know you were okay. But you could tell by the way his eyes darted around he wasn't thinking logically. He needed you safe first. Sirius saw the look on his God sons face and nodded to him dashing over to you all. He untied the other first before you.

"Hello love, Harry has told me much about you." You let out a shaky laugh as you felt your hand free them self. You fought the urge to rub your sore wrist and grabbed you wand holding it up as you ran to Harry's side. Things were moving so quickly, you were all so focused on Voldmort getting away again that you didn't see Lestrange creeping around. She was hell bent on causing pain, and you caught sight of her too late. She lifted her wand and you yelled to Harry. Before he could finishing turning Sirius barreled through him, taking the spell that was meant for him.

Bellatrix laughter rang out and she melted back into the shadows. "Goodbye dear cousin." She called out. Harry's screams ripped through the air, he fell to his knees next to Sirius, laying his forehead to his chest and curling in on himself. You dropped to your hands and knees, crawling to him as your own tears fell to the floor.

"Oh, Harry..." You hiccupped, grabbing his hand. You helped him to his feet but as soon as he stood he paled and fell back down. It was a haunting image. The boy you loved, lying so still next to his dead God father. You cried out for help, telling Lupin he needed to be taken to the infirmary.

That's where you sat now, with Ron and Hermione. Staring at Harry urging him to open his eyes. As if hearing your silent pleas, his brilliant green eyes opened. They darted around the room before they met yours, there they settled.

"What happened?" He croaked out, his throat still raw from screaming. He sat up and you leaned forward in your chair staring at the ground. "After Sirius," you choked on the words. "When he fell, you couldn't stand it. Madame Pumpfrey says it was your body going into shock." You looked back him. "Harry I was so worried, seeing you just collapse I.." Your voice cracked and yo wiped the tears that slipped out at the memory. Why did the boy you love have to also be the boy a bunch of dark wizards sought to kill. You didn't know how much you could take.

Harry reached his hand out to you and you took it immediately. He pulled you onto the bed then, sitting you next to him as he wrapped you in a tight embrace.

"It's okay now, I'm okay." He whispered into your hair. You nodded and he pulled away looking past you. "Do you guys mind if I speak to (y/n) alone?" Harry asked the other two, you furrowed your brows but they quickly obliged. Hermione saying they'd be back soon with food. When they had walked out Harry looked down at his fingers still intertwined with yours. He rubbed circles into the back of your hand.

"I know you're okay Harry but by Merlin for how long? You're always off getting into dangerous situations and scaring the hell out of me." You rambled, but his touch was calming you. To your surprise he smiled, a cocky grin.

"I do love that you worry about me so much, but why is it that you do?" You swallowed hard. You didn't know it the grip he had on your hand made you feel brave, or if seeing him so lifeless made you want to clear the air. But you were honest with him.

"Because I'm in love with you Harry James Potter." Harry took in a deep breath, not looking away from your eyes then leaned in towards you. Your heart pounded as you closed your eyes meeting him half way. Your blood rushing to your head as your lips met. All the worry melted from you. He pulled away, a smile forming slowly and a pink tint on his cheeks.

"I was hoping it was something like that. I've been crazy about you for awhile now. Would you please, be my girlfriend?" Your grin grew and you nodded. "I know its dangerous to be around me but don't worry, I'll always protect you. I've lost too much, i refuse to loose you. I love you (y/n)." He said suddenly serious. You shook your head.

"And just who is supposed to protect you?" His cocky grin was back again.

"Don't worry about that love, I'm the boy who lived." You rolled your eyes and he laughed pulling you in for another sweet kiss.
