"Ron you have nothing to worry about." You assured your red headed friend. He groaned dramatically.
"I barely made the team last year..." he started but you quickly corrected him.
"Mm maybe, but I was at try outs and you did great this year. You were brilliant." Rob rubbed the back of his neck.
"I'm just not used to it (y/n)..." you raised an eyebrow at him, he looked up at the branches of the tree you were sitting under.
"I've always been second best. Always another Weasly brother, just Harry Potters friend, I'm just a side character. Not that I don't like the attention, I'm just not used to it. I'm afraid I'll disappoint."
You looked at the boy you've come to love, and your heart ached. You had known how he felt, he had just never talked about it out loud before.
"Ron you're amazing. You're not just anything. You're Ronald Weasly. I mean you beat McGonagall's Giant che-" he quickly stopped you.
"That was in first year, while helping Harry stop you-know-who." You sighed and looked him in the eyes.
"You may have been helping Harry, but without you he couldn't have done it. Just like our Quidditch team can't win without you." You smiled as Ron blushed a little.
"Thanks (y/n)." You just hugged him, enjoying being in his arms for a bit before standing to head back to class.

You were in the stands, rooting for Gryffindor. Really just watching Ron play as keeper. He was amazing, catching some by just the tips of his fingers. As if luck were on his side.
This game Gryffindor was signing Weasley is our king. You shouted the chorus along with the rest of your house, following the crowd back to the common room.
There was a huge party in celebration of beating Slytherin. You decided now, during this moment proving how truly astonishing Ron was, you were going to confess to him.
But he was getting yanked around so much you could hardly catch a glimpse of him. Once even, getting excited at the sight of bright red hair, grabbing George by the arm by accident.
But when you finally found him, tucked in a quiet corner, he had Lavender Brown all over him. Pulling at his tie bringing him into a kiss as he looked up, eyes meeting yours. Your eyes stung, embarrassed to be witnessing this moment you spun around. You didn't run in any particular direction just away.
You shoved past the twins, bumped into Harry and Ginny. Not bothering to apologize to anybody. You just kept running until you were out of the common room, finding yourself alone in an empty corridor.
I can I be so heartbroken over somebody who isn't even my boyfriend? Well last I checked he wasn't Lavenders boyfriend either.
You dried your tears before somebody found you. It had been hours though, it was possible nobody even noticed you were gone except Ron. If he even remembers you left. He was probably to concentrated on Lavenders tongue down his throat.
You shook the thoughts from your head, determined to be stronger than this. You got up and walked back to the common room that was now empty. You let out a sigh of relief and climbed the stairs to your dorm, plopping into your bed for a long restless night.
The next morning Hermione woke you with a gentle shake.
"Sorry (y/n), I didn't want you to sleep in to late. Though it's Saturday, you'd miss breakfast." You smiled at the sweet girl and sat up.
"It's fine, thank you." You quickly dressed and and skipped down to the great hall excited to see Ron. When you saw him already seated at the table you smiled and waved, only to be shoved a side by a squealing girl.
"Won-won!" Brown shouted running towards him nearly knocking him over in an embrace.
Last nights events suddenly hit you and your face he heated up as you took your seat between Harry and Hermione. Hermione, knowing how you felt about Ron shot you an apologetic look but you ignored it, aggressively shoveling food into your face.
"Uh (y/n), you alright?" Rob asked.
"She's such a weirdo." Lavender giggles, not bothering to try and say it quietly. You looked her dead in the eye wiping your mouth on your robe and standing abruptly.
"No, (y/n) wait." But you didn't. You walked straight out the great hall and to the black lake.
You heard steps crunch up behind you, then saw Malfoy'a face behind you in the reflection of the lake. You rolled your eyes wiping your tears as you threw another blade of grass into the lake, continuously picking at the ground.
"I told you from the start (y/n)." He may have only been friends with you because of your pure blood status, but he actually was quiet a good friend to you. He was loyal and stuck by you, even when you were sorted into Gryffindor. Even when you befriended the people he despised the most at the school.
"I said don't go getting close with that blood-traitor, then you went and fell in lo-"
"I get it Draco, you were right in wrong!"
He's eyes softened as the Black Lakes still surface grew tiny ripples from your tears.
"I didn't want to be right about this one (y/n).."
You turned around and looked up at him.
"Well I mean I did. I mean, I just didn't want you to get hurt."
You gave him your best effort at a smile and nodded, only making him feel worse.
"Yeah I know Draco."
"Come on (y/n)..." he said softly kneeling and sitting in the ground next to you. "He's not somebody to get upset over." He put his arm around you pulling you into a hug that you leaned into.
"But he was my number one." You mumbled, unheard by Draco as tears kept flowing.
