Cristina POV

Here we are, sitting a couple of tables away from Mr. Aguilera. There was a table full of men, including himself, but other than that, everything was empty.

Was it really necessary to rent out the whole place just to connect four tables together?!

We ordered our drinks, and while we waited, we talked about the good old memories of our childhood. I felt eyes burn on the side of my face, and I turned to look and saw him staring. His hand was placed under his chin as he studied me. We stared at each other for a couple of seconds just before the waiter stood in front of him, blocking the sight.

He places our drinks down and takes our order shortly after. "I'm so sorry this happened. It wasn't suppose to end like this," he gives me an apologetic look. I give him a reassuring smile and squeeze his hand.

Ten minutes later our waiter comes with our delicious food. The smell hits my nostrils, and I smile at the scent. Five minutes into eating, Rafael gets a phone call, and he excuses himself while I eat. I pick up a fork full of pasta and place it in my mouth. My eyes close as I let the flavor run inside my mouth.

This is delicious!

I continue eating as Rafael finishes off his phone call. He sits back down and gives me another apologetic look before speaking.

"Jewel, I'm really sorry for tonight. I have to go. My father is feeling ill," he says.

I wipe my mouth and look at him. "It's ok, bubba. I understand. I hope he feels better. I enjoyed this night. Go on, and I'll stay behind. I'll tell Angelo to join me. We aren't too far from home." I smile

"Are you sure I don't want to leave you alone with these men?" He whispers

"I'll be fine. Go on. I don't wanna waste this delicious food, and Angelo is dressed up already." I giggle

"Thank you, Jewel" he kisses the top of my forehead and hands me two hundred dollars. "I'm sorry I can't stay but take this to pay and buy yourself anything you want, ok. I have to go," he hugs me and runs off.

I take my cellphone out of my purse and dial Angelo. A couple of rings after he answers.

"Hey, Cristina, what's up?"

I explain everything to him and ask him if he wants to join me. He agrees to it and says he'll be there as soon as possible. I hang up and continue eating my food when I hear someone approaching me. I don't dare to look up. I continue eating my food, and I hear someone clear their throat.

I look up and see the one and only Mr. Aguilera standing there. I frown upon his appearance that happened so quickly and wait for him to say something.

"Ms Cristina i hope you haven't forgotten about our interview tomorrow," he says in a deep voice.

Does he really have to bring that up while I'm eating?

"Mr. Aguilera I'll make sure to be there on time and to answer you I haven't forgotten" I take a sip my water.

"Was the your boyfriend?" He asks

I choke on my water and quickly wipe myself up. Boyfriend?

"No he is not my boyfriend he is a super close friend of mine," I reply.

He nodded without saying another word he walked away. I ignored the small talk and continued eating my food while looking at the place Rafael was suppose to eat. No later than ten minutes Angelo stands at the other side of the bridge looking around. I wave at him and he sees me. He starts walking towards me while I turn back and look at the table.

"There you are," he sits. "I'm surprised you stayed behind," he looks around "at this empty ass restaurant."

I let out a small laugh and look at him. "I couldn't just waste the food. It's delicious try it." He picks up the fork and spins it to wrap noodles around it. He takes a bite and his eyes widen.

"Wow," was all he said before taking another bite.

"How is it?" picking my food I take another bite.

"Amazing," he blurts out. I shush him quickly when all eyes turn. I look over to his table and see him holding a pen tight with a clenched jaw. He looks angry so I quickly turn around and look at Angelo. I look at Angelo and see him gazing over where I was.

"Isn't that the guy that almost ran us over the day we went to get ice cream," he questions standing up. He looks over at me with a response and I nod. He starts walking towards him and I quickly grab him and tell him to relax.

"What are you doing Cristina," he stares down at me.

"Please don't make a scene it happened already," I gave him a pleading face hopefully it convinced him to stop him in his tracks. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair walking back to the table.

Most of the food was gone so I decided it's best if we leave . I called the waiter over to ask him for the check. He walked back and in less than five minutes he came back saying our bill was already paid.

"What do you mean out bill is paid?" I question him.

"Mr. Aguilera the man over there" he says  moving out of the way so that I can see and steps in front of me again "paid for your meal."

An 'oh' was all that came out of my mouth. I thanked the waiter and took a sip of my drink. Just as I was about to say something Angelo had cut me off.

"So first he's about to run us over and now he wants to pay for our meal. What is wrong with this guy," he sighs rubbing his chin.

I mean he isn't wrong

"Regardless of the situation we should thank him," I turn to look at him as he glanced over at me as if I'm crazy. I roll my eyes and stand up "I'll go thank him and you wait in the car ok" he stares at me before getting up and walking away. I make my way over fiddling with my fingers feeling nervous. He looks at me and looks back at the men signaling them to stop talking. His eyes are now set on mine as well as the other men making me more nervous .

"Can I help you?" He asks.

"I just came over to thank you for paying for our meal," I smile.

"That's no problem," he looks away chuckling before he sets his eyes on me again this time piercing right through me "there's always to repay right?"

I stand there stunned with his response before I blurt out a "what?"

"Nothing I'll see you tomorrow," he says before motioning the men to continue talking. I smile and walk away.
