[Y/N]
•I wasn't exactly sure when it happened, but I noticed it almost immediately after it had started. I had been hanging around Sal a lot more, and though I didn't think much of it at first, something was brewing.
It was just something about him, he seemed so mysterious. While he was here, I learned next to nothing about him. Well, aside from his personal interests and weirdly human-like cat. His prosthetic was an obvious point of interest, but his past was almost entirely unknown to me. I'm sure he had to have some sort of back story, he had to!
Or maybe it was jealousy? He grabbed the attention of everyone almost immediately, be it good or bad. He was the center of attention almost everywhere he went.

I rolled off my bed lazily, soaking up the morning sunlight. The light painted my face with a warm glow, nudging me awake. I glanced towards my alarm clock.
7:30 am.
I pulled myself to my feet and found my way to the kitchen. Might as well make some breakfast since I was awake so early, right? Eggs, grits and bacon would do.
I grab the necessary ingredients from the refrigerator and get to work. As I was cooking, I heard the soft click of a door opening and closing behind me.
"Someone's up early." Viola commented, sleepily making her way towards me.
She leaned over me, pressing her hands to my shoulder and resting her head on top of them.
"Morning." I said, shifting slightly to stir the grits.
"How's the new kid doing?" She asked, lazily twirling a lock of my hair on her finger.
"Dunno," I huffed, turning around to face my older sister. "I think he's doing fine. Also, he's not that new, he's been here for like 2 months."
Viola quirked a brow at me, her deep blue hair falling over her face. "I'll always call him the new kid. Anyway, what do you mean 'I think'?"
I leaned back against the kitchen counter. "Exactly what I said. Sal doesn't really talk about himself." I said, turning around to stir the grits again.
"Oh, 'mkay. I need to go out later today to go get groceries, wanna come with?"
"Sorry, I have plans today." I turned off the stove and moved to plate my breakfast.
"Awe, you never wanna hang out anymore," Viola pouted.
I rolled my eyes at her. "We can hang out tomorrow, I have shit I need to do."
"Yeah? Like what, hang out with Sal."
I cringed at her wording, taking a bite out of my bacon. I walked past her, making sure to nudge her with my elbow.
"Yeah, to hang out with Sal."
Truthfully, I was going out with Larry since we hadn't hung out in a while. I mean the guy was my best friend. Since Sal moved in, it had either been all 3 of us, or one of us with Sal. I missed him.

I pulled on my boots and looked myself over in the mirror. I looked good. I opened my door, letting Viola know I was heading out.
As I exited, I noticed Sal leaving his apartment too. I tried to ignore his presence, focusing on what I was supposed to be doing.
"Hi, (Y/N)! What are you up to?"
