[Y/N]

"WHAT?! YOU SAW HIM AGAIN?!" Viola yelled frantically, her hands gripping into my shoulders.

I had just gotten home from Hot Topic. My sister's grip on my shoulders tightened more, causing me to shift uncomfortably. I told her about what I saw in Larry's apartment, and now, here we were.

"Yeah, it's exactly what I told you!" I looked into her eyes. She looked shocked and slightly angry.

"(Y-Y/N), do you know what this means?" She asked me, her voice growing more panicked.

"Yeah, the demon's getting stronger, right?" I replied, suddenly taking in the direness of the situation.

"More than that! The cult is doing something. And that means that you- we're not safe anymore," Viola moved her hands off my shoulder, gesturing in frantic motions.

My brows furrowed together. This was great. I can never get away from this can I?

"Wait, (Y/N), why didn't you tell me this earlier?" My sister asked, her red eyes burning holes into mine.

"I-I dunno! I was too freaked out, and I was with Sal and Larry, I couldn't just disappear on them, they'd get suspicious!"

"You couldn't just text me?! And what would they even be suspicious of?" Viola yelled.

"I don't know! I wasn't thinking!"

"Clearly you weren't!" She hissed.

It was silent for a second. We just stared at each other, neither of us daring to say anything. I knew she was just worried about me, but it still hurt when she yelled at me like this.

"You know what? You go get some rest, I'll deal with this." She sighed, her tone now very frustrated. Viola headed to her room, the soft click of a door noting her leave.

I heaved a heavy sigh. I walked off to my room, shutting the door and sinking down to the floor. Tears pricked at the corner of my eyes. Was there ever going to be an escape from all this?

God, and on top of that, this Sal situation. Truth be told, I didn't hate him at all. He was nothing but kind to me, I had no reason to hate him. But at the same time, I did. It felt like he was taking my best friend away. And that wasn't fair. But he wasn't doing it on purpose.

Maybe I was being selfish? Maybe I was just over reacting? I mean, Sal is a great guy, of course him and Larry would get along! It's only natural...but I still felt upset.

My phone dinged, signaling a text message. I sighed and pulled it out my pocket, turning the device on.

Gru Nose :^)
Hey can u call ?

I took a moment to collect myself before answering. I typed a quick "yea" and waited for Larry to call. Not too long after, a soft ringing was heard and I picked up the phone. I brought it up to my ear, waiting for him to speak

It was quiet for a second.

"Hey, dude."

"Hi."

More silence.

"I know you're upset, (Y/N)."

I gripped my phone, tears threatening to spill out. I took a deep breath grounding myself. Choosing to stay silent, I waited for Larry to say something else.

"Is it Sal? Do you not like him?" Larry asked cautiously.

"...No, it's not that. Sal is fine." I mumbled.

"Then what is it?"

I bit my lip, a hot tear streaming down my face.

"It's just- I'm going t-through a lot right now. And it kind of feels like I'm losing you." I spoke, my voice trembling slightly.

"Losing me? To what?"

I went quiet again. Deep breaths (Y/N), c'mon.

"To Sal." I took another shaky breath.

"Oh. (Y/N), I'm sorry. I just thought that maybe you'd feel better if I invited him." His voice was quiet, a little bit over a whisper.

"Thanks. Its fine though, I know you won't just leave me like that. Anyways, I have some stuff I need to deal with."

"Alright. I can drop by tomorrow and we can hang if you want? Just us this time, no surprise guests?" Larry proposed.

"I'll think about it. Bye, Larry."

"Talk to you later, dude. Hope you feel better."

I hummed before hanging up. Taking a deep breath, I looked up at my ceiling, the paint peeling in some places. A light chuckle escaped me. The reality of all of this just seemed so surreal.

God I was so tired. Pulling myself up off the ground, I made my way over to my bed. As soon as my head hit the soft pillows, I was out like a light.

--

A faint knocking sound was heard at my door. I got up, shuffling over to the door. Wrapping my hand around the door knob, I took a deep breath and pulled open the door.

I looked down, and my eyes were met with cobalt blue orbs. My heart sunk.

"Hey." I managed.

Sal looked up at me, gripping something in his hands. It looked like a handheld gaming device, but it wasn't one I've seen before.

"Hi. Um, I was wondering if maybe we could talk? There's some stuff I want to ask you." His voice was quiet, and a hint of nervousness shone through.

I looked him over. Was this about the bathroom incident? Or was he just feeling guilty about yesterday? What if he actually knew what was going on here? But that wouldn't make sense, he only got here a few months ag-

"(Y/N)? Hello?"

"Huh? Oh! Shit, I'm sorry. Yeah...uh, yeah we can talk. Just let me put on some shoes first."

"Alright."

I closed the door and walked back into my apartment to find my shoes. My thoughts were still racing. Trying to ground myself, I took a deep breath in.

I stepped out of my apartment, meeting Sal in the hallway. He was leaning against the wall, fidgeting with the gaming device. I cleared my throat awkwardly, causing the blue haired boy to turn and look up at me.

We stared at each other for a second, his eyes peering into mine. I swallowed dryly, a pool of anxiety forming in the pit of my stomach. He was the one to speak first.

"H-Hey. This might be a bit of an odd question, but... Do you believe in the paranormal?" He asked nervously

"Yeah, why?" I asked, looking down at the device in his hand.

"Well, I think these apartments are haunted,"

"Yeah cause they are." I thought.

"And I was wondering if you could help me with some stuff." Sal finished.

That peaked my interest.
