Sophie's POV
I... can't believe it. Keefe is awake. And alive, and breathing, and... not talking. Ever since he woke up, he hasn't said a word. Not. One. Word. And I don't know why.
I had been longing and waiting and hoping for the day that he would return to me and now that that day is here, it doesn't feel as worth the wait as I'd hoped. I had hoped that when he woke up he would explain what happened and if he'd manifested and answered all of our questions but he didn't. I'd at least hoped that he would tell me he loved me. Because I love him.

Keefe's POV
I just don't want to hurt anyone. If I could say one thing to them for an excuse, I would say that I'm only afraid of myself. I'm afraid of whatever creepy power my mom has "bestowed" upon me. And I'm afraid that whatever happened to me and whatever is going on with my "Legacy" is going to make Sophie finally see how dangerous I am. Or could be.
The only thing that I need is for Sophie to stay. I need her. I need her by me. She doesn't know it yet, but... I need her more than she'll ever know.
To me, she is a necessity; a life force. Keeping me awake and upright and keeping my life worth living. Without her, I'm just a hollow Keefe shell waiting to be filled by her smile and happiness again. Her glow. Her aura. Her.
