Keefe's POV
"So... Keefe's a Descryer?" Sophie asks while I sit there feeling like I've just found out that pigs can fly. Sophie was still sitting next to me on the cot, and I'm holding her hand so tight I'm surprised she isn't screaming in pain.
"It appears so. Otherwise, I have no idea why he was able to sense your potential."
I had decided to leave out the part of me sensing the potential of Sophie and myself because that would just get weird.
Elwin said he was going to contact Councillor Terik to help me learn how to use my ability. After he left the room it was just me and Sophie alone. I've had dreams of situations like this before but... you know what? I'm not gonna go into detail.
I had decided that it was safe to speak, and I remembered her saying something. "So... did you say you had something to tell me?" I said.
"Oh, right. Yeah, about that...." She looked down at our hands, and I loosened my grip just a bit.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"It's... just a complicated feeling." She said quietly.
"Well, good thing I'm an empath! Here, turn off your finger gadgets for a second and let the empath work." I said with a smirk. But she put a hand to my chest, implying for me to stop. Both of our eyes dropped to that point of contact, and we both blushed and looked away again as she slowly let her hand fall back into place and her side.
"That's not what I meant. Maybe you should close your eyes." She said.
"What? Why-"
"Just do it. I promise it'll be worth it. It's how I'm going to tell you what I'm thinking." I raised my eyebrows at this, still not convinced. But when she crossed her arms and gave me a look, I laughed and obeyed. I felt the cot shift as she was probably repositioning herself. And when she did show me, my eyes ripped open as I took in the scene before me.
Sophie Foster was... kissing me. Kissing me. Kissing me. And when she first put her lips onto mine, I squealed because I was unaware that she would do that.
Now, having been kissing her for the last five seconds am thinking that I should kiss back. So I do. And its... I can't even describe it. It's amazing. There are fireworks everywhere we touch, and it's almost as if my descrying was right. We pulled away then and smiled at each other.
I smirked. "What was that for?"
"It was my way of telling you the complicated feeling." She said, as she blushed and hid behind her hair.
"Well, what's the feeling?" I asked, my subconscience deciding to be oblivious.
She gave me a funny look, and then came and leaned in closer to me. "It's love."
She kissed me then, and it was a short and sweet kiss but there was so much love and passion from it there was no way I couldn't feel it.
She had her hands on the back of my neck and her arms resting on my shoulders as she put her forehead to mine and she told me,
"I love you, Keefe Sencen."
