Cai exhales lightly as he walks into the hall where everything was going to happen. His ringed fingers brush against his holster that was out for the whole world to see, lightly feeling the cool metal of the gun.
Min walks in after him, pulling the collar of his suit jacket because he decided to actually wear a jacket unlike Cai, who opted to wear a vest instead. Min nudges his shoulder, shooting a look towards the holster,
"You do know that guns aren't allowed at the event right?" He asks, going over the bar and swirling the drink in his hands. Cai rolls his eyes and grabs the glass out of Min's hand,
"And you've already started drinking already and the party has already started." He judges the man standing next to him. Min snatches the glass back, rolling his eyes at Cai's statement,
"Whatever. What are you going to do when Tara meets you?" He asks and Cai hesitates,
He had never had to hide his gun before.
"I'll give it to you and you can shove it in your pocket." He confirms and Min nods, not caring anymore. He takes a sip but quickly swallows it when he sees another group of people walking towards him. Min turns his back, nudging Cai with his shoulder once again,
"Incoming at six o'clock." Cai cocks an eyebrow and turns around, seeing Sienna walking towards her. He crosses his arms, shrugging his shoulders at her,
"Where's your boss?" He asks a simple question and she points a manicured finger behind her as a response,
"He's parking the car. Max is trying to find a spot that's free."
"Free?" Min butts in, entering himself into the conversation, wanting some of the tea for himself. Sienna nods,
"Yup, a lot of the parking spots around here are paid parking spots and he didn't feel like paying five dollars for a spot." She shrugs and walks over to the minibar to grab herself a pre-meeting drink. Cai shakes his head,
"He's a mafia leader and he still does cheap things." He mutters underneath his breath.
"You know that's me!" Cai lifts his head to look at where the voice came from. Suddenly the man of the hour walks up the stairs of the entryway, his hands in his pocket and his bandana tied around his belt loops.
"Of course it is." Min drawls out with a new drink in his hands. Cai stuffs his hands in his pockets,
"You do know that you can't come early right?" He asks, swaying from side to side. Max squishes his face up and looks towards Cai,
"If we're playing that game, you can't have a gun at this event." Cai sighs, getting a small 'I told you so' from Min. He stares daggers at Max, narrowing his eyes at him,
"Shut up Max. We both know that you have a knife of some sort tucked into a hidden holster." Max smirks at him, discreetly patting the side of his chest,
"So? Knives are less dangerous than guns." Min shakes his head, buttoning his vest and walking away,
"I can't deal with your stupidity today."

"You finally came downstairs." Atlas groans, tired from having to wait for Tara to get down the stairs and get her shoes on. Tara nods shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Her silver earrings jingle as she finally zips up her heels,
"It's not my fault that heels take forever to get on." She stands up, expecting Atlas to say 'let's go' and walk out the door, but he doesn't do that. He just continues sitting on the couch and Tara pushes him lightly,
"Are we waiting for someone Eeyore?" She walks over to the other side of the couch and sits on the opposite side, relaxing at the lack of tension that's presented in her heels. Atlas nods, bopping up once the doorbell rings,
"That must be Maurice." He walks over and opens the door, frowning once he sees nobody at the door. Suddenly he pales, and Tara notices,
"Hey, Atlas? Is everything good over there?" She questions, starting to get off the couch. Atlas shakes his head, untensing his shoulders when he sees Maurice walking into his field of vision, clad in a regular suit. His pace speed up as Maurice waves something in front of Atlas's face,
"Guess what I found laying at my doorstep?" Maurice pulls out a floral bandana, something that would seem normal to the outside world, but to the two of them, they knew that it spelled trouble. Both of them look at each other,
A floral bandana meant that she was off-limits.
But members of certain groups liked to cross the line.
"We're screwed, aren't we. Let's just not take her." Maurice decides and Atlas shakes his head, knowing that not going would be the worst option possible.
"Unless we want the secret to be spilled, we shouldn't go tell. Plus, I don't want to let her down." Atlas adds the last fact to make sure that they get to go. Maurice sighs, knowing that once Atlas makes up his mind, there's no going back,
"Let's go." Both of them walk back into the apartment, where Tara could be found playing with her hair. She looks up and smiles when she sees the both of them looking very handsome,
"Don't you two look dashing?" She smiles, feeling like a mother. Maurice smiles and feels the fabric digging into his suit, his smile fading when he realizes that he's going to have to come up with an excuse for the bandana.
He pulls out the fabric and Tara's eyes fall on it immediately,
"What's that Maurice?" She asks, reaching her hands out to feel it. Maurice lets her do so and gives the fabric to her,
"It's your ticket in." He tries his best not to complicate it and thankfully, she understands. With a tiny bit of effort, she ties the bandana to her wrist and grabs her clutch in hand,
"Let's go, shall we?
Guess who's dying from exam season?
Sky is.
I'm sorry for posting late, school has been a butthole and I just haven't been in the writing mood lately.
Screw COVID and quarantine.
Anyways, I hope that you've been having a marvelous day and you're enjoying the rest of your day.
