Before I know it, I'm paying to every details of a cross-over play. The evil queen turns out to be the Vice President in a dress, and the mirror being Riku.
It also tells how Romeo is supposed to kill the drama club girl, but finds himself falling for the girl. I'm not going to deny, he did a great job acting. Their dance is romantic, and their little singing is melodic.
But the Tybalt of the play does not approve of their relationship, and has a bad feeling of what Romeo is up to. When Romeo knows he would likely die in their duel, he gave the poisoned apple to Juliet. "My dear, you so promise to hold onto this and not to eat it. For I shall come back and tell you everything."
The play became a split side scene, wherein Romeo and Tybalt are fighting to death, and Juliet in the other side paces around nervously while Kokona, playing as the nurse, tries to calm her down.
The spotlight in Romeo and Tybalt's scene fades, leaving the audience not knowing who won the battle. The spotlight in Juliet's room fades too, but it went back with Juliet now sitting in her bed, blanket wrapping her lower body.
"It has been weeks since Romeo left for a duel. I heard no news about either of them. I am worried." Juliet wept but the nurse tries to assure her.
And then Juliet demands for a poison to take her life, as she believes Romeo already died. She wants to join his death, and even if the nurse disagrees, Juliet was insistent.
So she managed to get a poison in her possession, said something dramatic and kissed the poisoned apple, although one of her nails presumably dig upon it, since her hand suddenly shone from the juice it brought. Then she finally reached for the poison and drank it on her bed. As she falls unconscious, the goblet she drank upon dropped and rolled to nowhere. The only thing in her hand was the poisoned apple.
And as if a convenient timing, Romeo appeared entering the room. The stage actor did a great job capturing the audience's feelings, he nailed his expression of shock, regret, and grieve. He approached Juliet, found the poison apple in her hand, and observed the leaking juice from it. He caressed the girl's hand and said his lines.
"My mission is done, should I not be honored? The poison apple took effect, and lay forever asleep Juliet. Oh why my heart mourns for her death?"
The line probably hit me harder than it should be. It's just a part of their play, I reminded myself. However...
"May you forgive me Juliet, for I will join you." The stage actor tenderly kissed Juliet, then took a bit from the poison apple before falling unconscious beside Juliet.
A moment later, Juliet rouse from her slumber, and was shocked to see her Romeo. She tried to wake him up, but found that the apple in which Romeo said she should not eat has already earned a bite.
Then she say her lines, bit the apple too, and together they lay. At least they are together in the time of their deaths.
The stage play finished, and the students watching applaud to their efforts.
"That was a great play-- Oh, Ayano, are you crying?"
I did not even notice tears rolling on my cheeks if Senpai did not point it out. "Oh, it's nothing." I wiped of my tears. "They are really just amazing with acting. Made me cry."
The actors and actresses bowed one by one. Finally, it is now announced that their president returned and played the lead role.
"Thank you, thank you everyone! The support you gave to our hearty play is much appreciated. I know you watched the play because of my presence." The leader of purple haired club boasted.
The statement have me rolling my eyes, Sunobu never changed no matter the gender. However, the girls watching the play seem to differ to me, as they squealed.
"Ahhh Kizano is so handsome!!"
"Charismatic as always!"
"Wonderful acting!"
"I think I'm in love!!!""Of course, of course. Let's be honest," Kizano spread his arms for a more dramatic effect. "no one can play this role better than me."
Instead of people rolling eyes on him, the audience clapped.
"Wow, I'm so jealous. He's too talented!" Even the guys are in awe.
"Now that I returned, expected the Drama Club would be active moreso than ever. Which is why we are looking for other members willing to participate, and would accept roles that I myself would give." He adjusted his cape.
"Bro, this is my chance!"
"I'd accept even playing as a tree just to see you, Kizano-san!""That is, if you are worthy of my attention." Another pose. "I'd see your performances, try to impress me."
And his smirk is back on his face. "That's all. Toodaloo!" He grabbed his pocketed rose and tossed it in the air. Just like how grand his entrance is, his exit must put a lot of effort into it too.
Many students tried to catch the rose, but the rose does its thing and hit my body. I have no choice but to catch it, and when the students' gaze met just who received the rose, their expression changed.
It feels as if they are trying to strip my clothes, as they once again turned to whisper to each other.
Trying to hide how their action made me upset, I dropped the rose to the ground.
"Let's go, Taro." I held Senpai's hand.
Senpai did not question, and exited the gym with me. I'm thankful that he lead me to my classroom before he goes to his.
