"Do a flip!" someone screamed from the other side of the pool.

It was Saturday and a bunch of us were hanging out and swimming at Logan's house. I didn't feel like getting my hair wet so I was tanning on a lawn chair in my lilac bikini.

I wanted to wear my plain black one, but my best friends talked me into wearing the one that made my boobs look extra good.

If I had to describe my looks I'd use words like plain and average. Hannah and Daisy, of course, yell at me when I say that.

It's not my fault my two best friends are practically greek goddesses. Hannah and her perfectly curled blonde hair and small nose, and Daisy with her silky strawberry blonde hair and flawless side profile.

Next to them I'm just plain. Straight brown hair, hazel eyes, average features. Nothing has ever really set me apart from the rest.

The sound of someone cannonballing followed by water splashing on me shook me out of my thoughts.

I laughed when I heard Noah's victory shout. I guess I know who the splash belonged to!

Looking around the pool, I found Hannah and Daisy chatting amongst themselves. I walked over and dipped my feet in the pool in front of them.

"Hi girls," I greeted.

"Hi V," they beamed.

"You sure you don't wanna come in? The water feels really nice," Hannah said.

"Nah, I'm good here," I responded.

They caught me up on their conversation. They'd been making plans to go visit Endermont University so Daisy could visit Aiden.

"Ooh! Can I come? I could go hang out with Ethan," I said.

Ethan also attends Endermont University. I wondered if he and Aiden are friends. I think they were friendly in high school, but their paths didn't cross much.

Suddenly two hands wrapped around my waist and lifted me into the air. I screamed and wiggled in their strong arms.

"What are you-" I yelled but was cut off by the hands letting go and throwing me into the pool.

My head emerged from the water to see Lucas laughing in front of me.

I lightly hit his bare chest and crossed my arms. "What the fuck, Lucas?" I yelled.

He laughed. "C'mon, V, live a little!" he said.

I narrowed my eyes at him but eventually sighed and gave in. I splashed him playfully. "Not cool," I said with a laugh.

Lucas gasped. "Two can play at that game," he threatened.

He splashed me right back and I yelped in surprise.

This broke out in a full on splashing war. Not to brag, but I was definitely winning.

Lucas raised his hands above his head, "I surrender! You win!"

"Ha!" I screamed and lifted my own hands to match Lucas.

We narrowed our eyes at each other in suspicion. I wasn't going to splash him again, but I was going to be ready if he tried any funny business.

Suddenly, he lunged at me. He grabbed me by the hips and lifted me into the air. I laughed as he spun me around, but couldn't help but notice Nathan storming inside out of the corner of my eye.

Lucas finally lowered me back into the pool and I pushed myself away from him with a smile.

"Truce?" I stuck out my hand.
