"Next!"
It was Casey's turn to get a check up. She walked forward in confidence, being used to this. Just as she was about to take a seat in the chair in front of her, a tall guy with brown eyes ran in an awfully quick speed and sat on the chair.
"Hey! No cutting in line and using powers in a check-up Mason!" shouted one of the workers from Karecane.
"Sorry but i'm in a hurry sir!" replied Mason while coughing.
A health worker checked Mason's temperature and got his heart rate with this metal machine that looked like Karecane company's logo. Mason turned around, finally noticing the girl he cut the line of. He apologized to her with a bright smile and Casey couldn't help but feel her facial muscle pull up the corners of her mouth. She finds this so-called "Mason" guy warm as the sun.
Again, the worker shouted the word "Next" and it was finally Casey's turn. She sat on the chair as usual and allowed the worker to check her.
"Your sickness is barely there anymore. Consider yourself lucky."
Those words mean so much to Casey. After the day she got her powers, she has been constantly coughing and catching colds. She knew good news awaited her with only a gut feeling.
Casey stood up, thanked the worker, and started walking home. She decided to stop by a park called "Greenfile" and take a seat on a bench. Three minutes later, a sad-looking girl sat next to her.
"I hope you don't mind me sitting here, kinda having a rough day." said the girl with a gloomy face.
"Yeah don't worry, I don't mind. What's your name?" asked Casey, obviously curious.
"Julia."
