First Meeting

The first spark came into being the day we met even though it was meeting my future bandmates. It was a low-key introduction at a low-key gathering, just like a few friends meeting up at a Mexican restaurant , Mick nodding from me to her and saying "Christine, Stevie. Stevie, Christine," leaving us to strike up a conversation that would possibly have been awkward under most circumstances especially after I found out later, Christine was actually the main one the others were letting decide if to let me join or not, I was glad I hadn't known at the time though, but I must have impressed her, we hit it off instantly and I could never have expected what the future held.

Her blue eyes were welcoming, her smile genuine, and conversation flowed between us for the next hour. She was around five years older than me but we still had so much in common, it was the most magical experience of my life and I hadn't known at the time.

After a while of us all talking, the time was soon coming to an end but Christine dug a pen out of her bag and took my hand, writing her full name on the back of my hand and her number "Call me if you have any extra questions, the boys are idiots so its best you ask me, since us girls have to stick together now!" She winked and I was shocked, obviously we were suddenly in a band and she was already treating me like I was special to her "It was really nice meeting you Stevie, I can't wait for us to start making the album, how about next week?" she said, and though I didn't recognise it at the time, the first spark lit inside me at the sound of her voice saying my name for the first time. I turned my palm to give her hand a squeeze as I nodded and returned the sentiment, said goodbye, and while driving home with my boyfriend Lindsey, at the time, I kept taking my eyes off the road to glance at that hand. As if something had changed about it when it had touched hers. The words "Christine McVie" stood out in blue against my skin, and a little part of me never wanted to wash them off.
