Now wait a damn minute. Did she just said I'm her child?

Noticing my confused expression Selene added, "You were actually born a few centuries ago, I was still the moon goddess of Irnia that time and that's where I met your father. A human, he was a mercenary on the run and took refuge in one of my temples."

I noticed how Selene's expression softened as she told me this story. So deities are able to make those type of expressions as well huh?

"I healed him despite not being the deity he worships. And that's how it started."

"Wait, you mentioned that I was born a few centuries ago? How is that possible?"

Selene's soft expression dropped to a more solemn one.

"During the war between humans and gods, humans who are gifted with magic set up a magical barrier around each temple of the gods to prevent us from escaping. The magic was the origin magic, magic that existed way before us gods appear. It was impossible for me to call for help or even use my powers, we had to go down on earth physically...

"... but that was a trap. Some gods were able to prevent from getting captured unfortunately I was the one who couldn't ran. The humans trapped me and tried to extract my powers."

Selene's body shook while I watched silently. I've heard about this great war in Taehyung's library but the book didn't tell exactly how or why it started. Taehyung told me that I'll get more information from Namjoon's library.

But to think that humans are able to capture a deity. No matter what realm, humans are always greedy.

"Then... he came. He was a human but... he swung his sword at other humans. We both ran away but eventually they caught on... he... was shot by an arrow."

Selene's story about... my father was a bit weird. I thought I was just a pitiful human, raised in a broken family and lived a fucked up life. And now this... goddess says I'm her daughter?

"I used all of my powers as a goddess to save him. In return, I had to give up everything and roam around here for eternity. With the last bit of my powers I let you wander around as a spirit, hoping, that I'll see you again. But I wasn't expecting you to be reborn in the human world, but that doesn't matter. Now that my daughter is back I'm happy." Selene smiled, pale hand reaching out as she touched my head. A cool feeling on top of my head made me gasp out, my body felt a bit lighter and found myself floating upwards towards her direction.

Selene rested her forehead against mine and somehow, it didn't felt weird. Instead, I felt warm something that I haven't felt for a long time now. I didn't realized I was crying until Selene used her thumb to wipe the tear off and smiled.

"Now go and live on as the child of the moon. I'm sure that the nature god is worried for you."

My face flushed red at the mention of Taehyung, how did she knew?

"I know everything about you and can see you as well. If you wish to talk to me find somewhere where water gathers and call out my name."
