A Day Out In The Forest

"...in?"

"Yejin?"

"Yejin, love, can you hear me?"

You snapped out of your trance and looked at the brown haired god across you, the both of you are at the dining table having breakfast. It's been a total of a month since you woke up in this weird land and you haven't step foot out of the tree house ever since so boredom is understandable.

Taehyung noticed you've been dozing off lately and is rather concern for you, "Are you okay? You feeling unwell?" he asked you as you just smiled, "I'm fine just, it's a bit... boring here. No offense! It's just that I haven't went out for almost a month now to be honest and I want to walk around here. Can I?" you asked the last part warily not knowing how the god will react and relief washed over you to see him smile.

"You're right, but your ribs are still hurting so I suggest you to be careful." Taehyung said while taking a sip from the wooden cup, you nodded and bit into the piece of bread happily. Finally you can actually look around the forest. "I'm heading towards the waterfall today, would you mind keeping me company?" he asked and who are you to reject the handsome man across you?

"I don't mind."

Once you both finished breakfast you followed Taehyung as he led you both towards the waterfall. The walk was rather nice and peaceful, sounds of birds chirping and seeing small animals around you was an experience. A family of foxes stopped in front of you both as you hid behind Taehyung, sure they're cute but they're still wild animals.

"It's okay Yejin, all animals inside this forest are friendly. Unless you do something bad of course." Taehyung reassured you as he crouched down and held a hand out towards one of the
fox kits there who immediately rubbed its head against his palm. Noticing how tamed and gentle the foxes are you crouched down beside Taehyung still wary but your eyes set on the baby fox.

"They're cute." you mumbled out in awe, Taehyung grinned and picked up the baby in his arms and held it to you. Your instincts of course made you backed away at first but with Taehyung's gentle words you decided to touch it on the head gently. The other fox family played around near you both. "Hey, you're so cute." you smiled and finally had the courage to take the baby fox in your arms who surprisingly cuddled up to you immediately. Rubbing its head under your chin and jaw as Taehyung stared in amazement.

"The kit scented you."

You broke your gaze away from the kit to look at Taehyung who had a wide smile on his handsome face, "Hm?"

"The kit scented you. Foxes scent on each other, this kit must really like you to do that." he chuckled. You both played with the foxes before finally letting them go on, waving goodbye to the foxes you both continued walking until finally reaching at the waterfall.

"We found you here, laying by the bank unconscious." Taehyung spoke up while your eyes stared at the crystal clear water that sparkled under the sunlight.

This gives you Alice in wonderland vibe but only there's no bunny rabbit, a crazy queen or even a mad hatter.

"I guess there's no way going back huh?" you smiled sadly while hugging your knees to your chest. You two sat by the bank silently, Taehyung watched you silently noticing your sudden mood drop and frowned. "We'll find an answer soon, we can ask Namjoon, he's very smart." Taehyung spoke up making you averted your gaze towards the nature god.

You don't really know if you want to go back, your life in Seoul is pretty miserable. Busy parents who are rarely at home, no friends, isolated by your classmates because you don't talk to them. Do you really want to go back to that boring and dull life?

"It's okay, I like it here. I never held a fox until today and I enjoy your company." you said to Taehyung honestly. His heart speed up a bit at your words before snapping out of it,

"I'm glad that you enjoy my company Yejin."

You followed Taehyung as he worked around the forest, tending to animals, checking the plants to make sure they're growing nicely and you even get to experience one of his powers. Fall is about to come soon and Taehyung said he needs to make sure that everything is ready, animals who are going into hibernation will start stocking up some food to last them throughout winter.

"The dwarves usually come to hunt and pick herbs at this time because most of the yummy plants grows at this season." Taehyung said waving his hand as a weird curly yellow-ish plant grew, "This is Butterweed, its very yummy if put it as garnish on top of onion soup." you watched the plant curiously, poking the leaf with your fingertips before you leaned forward to sniff at the plant.

"It smells like butter!" you gasped out earning a chuckle from the nature god. Days later the weather got more colder, Taehyung gifted you a fur coat to make yourself warm. You snuggled up in the coat as Taehyung's heart beat fast at how happy you seem to receive his gift.

He needs to ask Namjoon about this.
