Getting the Chance ||

22 March ,2000

"Come on, Mum and Dad. We are going to be late for the play." said 10 years old Daniel Radcliffe the only child of Alan George Radcliffe and Marcia Jeannine Gresham (née Jacobson). Today he is going to see a play in the theater with his Mum and Dad. Right now he is waiting impatiently for his parents in front of the house gate. 'MUM. DAD.' yelled Dan. 'Coming, dear' said his dad. After 1 minute his parents came downstairs. ' You are late' said Dan. 'Sorry Dan. Now let's go.' said his dad. After getting into car they drove to towards the theater.

After 30 minutes they reached their destination. After entering into the theater they found three sits in the middle row behind two men. Little did he know the two men sitting front of them was producer David Heyman and writer Steve Kloves of Harry Potter and they are going to change his life. After the play started Daniel became curious about the play. He was really energetic and funny during the whole play like a monkey🙊. His behavior caught the eyes of David Heyman and Steve Kloves. They instantly thought he is perfect for the role of Harry Potter. He had also a "hunger for knowledge". After the play Alan introduced Dan to David and Steve.

After few days David Heyman called Alan Radcliffe.

"Hello!! This is Alan Radcliffe .

Hello! I am David Heyman. How are you ?

Oh!Hey David.I am good. Now tell me what did I do that you called me?( laughs)

That day you introduced me to your son Daniel , remember?

Of course. How can I help you?

You know that we are going to make movies on Harry Potter novel So I was thinking if Daniel give audition for the role of Harry Potter. I think he is a great match for this role.

I think I should speak to Dan about this matter.

Okay after speaking to him , let me know about his opinion.

Alright I call you later. Bye.

Bye."

After finishing the call Alan went to find Dan. He found Daniel at his room. 'Hey son. What are you doing?' asked Alan. 'Nothing, dad. Just time passing. What brings you here?' said Dan. 'Do you remember Uncle David? We met him at the theater few days ago." asked Alan. 'Yep. What about him?' asked Dan. 'Well he wants you to give audition for the role of Harry Potter. Do you want to give a try for the role?' asked Alan. After thinking Dan replied, 'Okay. I will give a try.' 'Alright then. I will go and call David to tell him that you said yes.' said Alan. 'Bye, dad." said Daniel.

It's been a few days since Daniel gave audition for the role of Harry Potter. Alan was in his study room when suddenly his phone rang. It was from David Heyman.
"Hello, David.
" Hello. I just want to tell you that Daniel is selected for the role of Harry Potter. He is going to be the main lead actor.
What!! Are you serious? Dan will be thrilled.
I know. I will call you later to tell the location and when we will start the shooting. Bye.
Bye."
After cut the call Alan went to Dan's bedroom. He saw Dan was taking shower. He then knocked on the door. Dan slightly opened the door and saw his father was standing outside. " What happened, Dad? " asked Dan." Guess what. You got the chance to be Harry Potter!" Alan exclaimed happily. Hearing that Dan broke into tears. He couldn't believe he is selected. Hearing the ruckus his mum came upstairs and saw Dan is crying. " What happened, Dan? Why you are crying? " asked his mum. " Mum, I got selected for Harry Potter. " said Dan half smiling and half crying. " Oh congratulations dear. We are proud of you." exclaimed his mother happily. " Now you both get out and let me finish my shower" said Dan. After they left Dan finished his shower. While he was taking the shower he felt it was one of his best day. Little did he know this movie was going to change his life fully. It is going to bring him a beautiful person whom he will love more than his life along with fame.
