Chapter 16: Brilliance

                                          "Jonquil and Babiana think that the easy path here is to do nothing" knifejaw took a breath "we need to remember that Basenji and Fossa are still out there." He folded his arms "their idea is to let the two of them take the reins here since they are on the outside."

                                           "That is a good idea actually" Xerus smiled "It will free up teal and Nyala who are going through some stuff right now." Xerus sighed "You know how the ruler of the dragons usually has more than one mate."

                                           "Yeah, she has you and Teal." Knifejaw was confused "This is nothing new, we already guessed it was because of the royal thing, balancing out the tone and all."

                                           "She thinks she is connecting to one of the new staff members here, His name is Coral and he is one of the new doctors." Xerus sighed "She is worried that she made a grave mistake by getting pregnant by me.

                                             "Could it be a trust thing?" Sage interrupted the conversation from Knifejaws arms. "Like the queens intincts telling her who to trust with everything right now."

                                            "It's possible actually, huh" he thought about it then smiled "Thank you, now back to Jonquil and Babiana."

                                           "All we need to do is gain celebrity status here." He shrugged "they think that will help in the long run ."

                                            "How?" Xerus frowned in confused "Celebrities are useless."

                                            Knifejaw shrugged "I have no idea."

                                        "You two are hopeless" Sage laughed "it is actually brilliant." She leaned against Knifejaw and yawned. "By being a celebrity amongst the people you want to get to execute their government you can convince them to do so by simply saying" Sage did her best braindead blonde human impression "aw look they want us dead, they keep us prisoners, kill them."

                                            "This has been a very insightful conversation," he laughed "I will let Teal and Nyala know when they wake up."

                                              "Nyala is pregnant" Xerus nodded yes " and resting because" Knifejaw asked hoping nothing was wrong with the baby.

                                            "She fell asleep cuddling Teal to calm her, I was about to move her to her new room." He pointed to the large doorway that was added at the back of his room. "At least the staff can't stack stuff there anymore, from what I understand when they tried it with Teal and she put her foot down, Doc learned they were embezzling from zoos by purchasing furniture to later sell."
