The Dragons Mark

Chapter 18: Marked and Sealed

                                            Sage was on the man, her legs wrapped around his waist and her hands around his neck cursing him out as Teal sat in the corner behind the couch sobbing. The rest of the mates were running for help or hiding in panic. The scene was quickly noticed by everyone above Dragon and guests alike. "What the" Xerus thoughts were very loud to every female in the room he landed quickly and rushed to Teal's side. Kijang landed hard and snarled at Sage trying to get Sage off her human without angering Knifejaw who was stronger than her. Knifejaw landed and lunged at Kijang for snarling at Sage. Xerus nuzzled Teal while the workers pried Sage off her would be victim. Teal just sobbed in Xerus's arms without moving.

                                         "Stop, now" one worker yelled as he tried and failed to get Sage off of the nearly unconscious man.

                                           "Release him now or pay the price" another snarled out a threat as he reached for a baton and a handful of Sage's hair.

                                            "You" a supervisor quickly snatched him by the collar and yanked him backwards and got in his face "go back to the office, I will discuss that comment and your actions with you later." The supervisor stepped in and leaned over to Sage's ear

                                              "Sage" She grumbled under her breath "knifejaw will trigger and attack if you don't relax," as we speak he is lashing out at Kijang who's toy you are throttling." Sage looked up at Knifejaw, he was doing his best to protect her still "Sage, it is safe now," Sage released him slowly "we will deal with his mouth, you need to step back please." Sage stepped back with tears in her eyes and was immediately tackled. "Gently" the supervisor yelled.

                                           "Sorry" The workers apologized as they gently helped her to her feet but held onto her arms tightly. Sage took a breath to calm herself as workers held her arms and braced her. The supervisor stood in between her and the man on the couch that was now able to breathe and being tended to by two other workers.

                                             "Keep breathing son," the supervisor calmed him then turned to Sage "I know he has a mouth on him, and he can be dense, but oxygen deprivation will not make him better."

                                            Sage laughed lightly "it would make me feel better."

                                           "Here comes Knifejaw" the supervisor stepped out of the way and motioned for the staff to do so as well, all but the two holding Sage obliged.

                                            Sage tried to free herself as they stood there jaws open looking straight at a very terrifying and angry Knifejaw who was hovering just out of Kijang's awkward swings. "I'm fine now, let me go!"

                                              Knifejaw landed hard behind Sage, with one snarl the workers released her and dove for cover. Sage rushed to him sobbing, and incoherent "Xerus," he spoke in tone as he nuzzled Sage with concern " what was that."
