"Excuse me?" Rick asked.
She hesitated again, "Evelyn, that's. . . My name, but my friends used tocall me Eve."
Rick didn't like the woman. She seemed out of it. Maybe a little crazy, but if the answers to the question was real then she answered them right.
Is she good with a gun? Can she be trusted? Would she be at the fence? A million questions ran through his head at the times like this.
"Okay Evelyn, I'm going to go talk to Daryl. Then the council can decide wether or not you stay." He said.
"What if I don't want to say," she said glaring again.
Rick didn't reply, only to walk out to find Daryl.
Daryl had been in Carols cell. They hadn't told people yet that they were together.
Kissing Carol was the only thing he could think about doing. He loved the way her lips and tough felt against his.
He knew what had happened to her, but also to him. They had learned to comfort each other in touch. Though they had never actually slept together, they acted as if they had been that way a million times.
Stolen kisses, long goodbyes. Everything to keep it a secret.
He laid her on the tiny cot in the cell and kissed her harder. Until the feeling of burning eyes on Daryl's back. He and Carol both looked over his shoulder.
Standing there was a wide eye Rick. He was blushing and staring. "Um s-sorry'" he stuttered.
Daryl cleared his throat and stood up.
"Let's go Rick," he said.
As Rick walked through the hall he found Beth. She was holding Judith on her hip.
"Where Daryl?" He said taking Judith for a moment.
"I think Carol had to show him something in her cell." She said reaching back to collect Judith.
He thanked her and kissed Judith on the head.
He walked to the cell only to find the last thing he ever thought happen. His best friend was kissing Carol. Carol the girl who was so scared and breakable when he first met her.
He knew it was creepy to just keep staring, but it's not something that you can just look away from.
When Daryl and Carol looked over Daryl's shoulder, he looked like deer caught in a head light.
Daryl cleared his throat.
"Let's go Rick," he said.
Rick and Daryl walked out of the cell.
"Sorry," Rick said.
"Yeah well keep it to yourself, if you can tell this is supposed to be a secret." He told him in a pissed off voice. Rick knew when Daryl was pissed, and this time he was.
"You know I won't tell anyone," he told him.
"Yeah I know," Daryl's facial expression changed.
"So about the girl. This time I don't know. She seems. . . Uneasy," he said.
"I've not really talked to her. She was passed out when we found her. Thought it wasn't right to leave 'er. Guess Carols rubbing off on me." He said looking at his shoes.
"Well come on it's time for you to meet her." Rick said.
They walked to the infirmary. Rick in the lead with Daryl following him.
"Evelyn this is Daryl." Rick said.
She still just set there with a glare on her face.
"Did you ask her the questions?" He asked.
"Yeah and she passed." Rick replied, "but I still don't know."
"Well let's let her stay here and see if she'll make a good worker." He said.
"And what if I don't want to stay?"she asked.
"It's your death, wether you die or not that's your choice. You can stay if you want if not be out of here by dark," Daryl replied.
She still didn't reply. Just glared.
