"Love you." I shook the sleep from my body, took care of business, pulled my hair into a messy bun, and slipped into the clothes he set out for me. I headed downstairs and wondered how he hadn't tripped over the box I left at the bottom of them. "Oops. Sorry about the box. It was on my list of things to deal with today before you got home." I was talking as I entered the living room. I was going to get nothing done today.
"What box?" I looked around the corner of the Kitchen and back toward her. "Juice?" I had already put the water on for tea and prepared both cups. I walked through the dining room to get to the fireplace so I could start the fire. I was not likely to move from that area much at all unless music started calling me again. "I didn't see a box." I smiled as I started to work on lighting the fire.
I giggled. "Yes, please. I found this box in the garage that has some random things in it that look like fan gifts and a pair of in-line skates." I met him by the fireplace. This would be our first time lighting a fire here. I found myself getting lost in the whole picture of his Grammys on the mantle and his mom's painting on the wall above it in our house.
"OH! My Skates. Michael gave me those for my birthday a couple of years ago when he toured with us! How'd those get in there?" Once the fire was lit I turned toward the box and pulled the skates out. "I love skating. In-line, ice, you name it. Don't we still need to do that, go skating?" I laughed. "That was my favorite part of shooting the Sing video." I got lost in memories until the doorbell rang. "I got it." I jumped up, looked out the little side window, and opened the door on our breakfast. "Thanks, man." I tipped the driver and shut the door. "Ready to eat the best waffles in town?"
"Definitely. I haven't been skating in years." It was like a lightbulb went on above my head. We could go roller skating for his party. Now I just needed to call and see if I could secure it. I followed him to the kitchen with a plan forming in my head.
"Okay, we need plates and silverware or we can just eat right out of the containers and save ourselves some dishes. I got strawberries and blueberries and whipped topping too"
"Sounds delicious. Eating out of the containers is fine with me. The bar?" I grabbed the butter and syrup and headed that way.
"Sure."
We settled in and ate breakfast. He ate. I inhaled. It was so good. I finished my tea and juice too. I was looking forward to settling in front of the fire with him. I was also hoping to find a moment to see if I could rent the roller rink.
I ate my food and wondered if she even tasted hers. "Guess you were a little on the hungry side then huh?" I laughed and went back to eating my breakfast. "You know, one of these days you're gonna slow down and enjoy your meal. You might even finish a meal after I am done eating, maybe. You kill me." I was laughing so hard it hurt. I sobered and just looked at Lizzie. "It's good to be home. What are you planning on doing today?"
I stuck my tongue out at him but laughed along. "I was gonna run some errands and do more in the garage, but your lazy idea sounds perfect," I sighed and smiled.
"You can do that or be lazy with me or do both. I'm down either way, but I might need to keep you busy a little later. What were you going to do in the garage?"
"Hmmm? Oh, I was just going to go through some more boxes, but it's not important. I would rather snuggle with you." I started putting things away so we could move to the couch. "I was wandering around the music room while you were away. Is there anything you were wanting to put in there?"
"Nah. Not that I can think of. I don't need anything right now. Not that I can think of." I helped her clean up. "I love snuggles."
I'd figure out a gift for him. We said we would christen every room in the house but we hadn't gotten to the living room yet. The thought made me blush and giggle. "Me too."
"That is wonderful. Why are you giggling?"
I bit my lip. "We haven't 'snuggled' in the living room yet."
"Oh. Well. You do now do ya? Is that code for something?" I winked. "We need blankets."
I smiled and went upstairs to grab a couple of blankets and pillows. I brought them back down and spread them out in front of the fireplace. I yawned and stretched and laid down. "It's awfully comfy down here."
"Hmm, then I should join you. Yeah?"
I nodded and patted the spot next to me.
I walked over and sat on the floor next to her. The blanket was soft and comfortable. I smiled and opened my arms. "Let's snuggle."
Anything else I wanted to do today was forgotten as I climbed into his arms. I wrapped my arms around him and tucked myself under his chin. "This is nice," I whispered softly, breathing him in.
"You never answered, you know?" I smiled as I held her close. "Snuggles. Is that code for something? 'Cause I think I might like that a lot too."
I met his eyes and kissed him softly. "Definitely code." I giggled, smiled, and kissed him until I couldn't breathe.
I smiled into the kiss and got lost in the touches that came along with it.
I reached for the hem of his t-shirt and pulled it over his head. I tossed it aside and guided him to a laying position. "Snuggles."
