Brad and I wandered around town for a bit then went up to the observatory and then he took me home. All in all, it was a wonderful day. I unlocked my door and headed into my home. "Lizzie, Lizzie are you here?"
I had gotten home, wrapped his gifts, stored them in the guest room closet, and fallen asleep on the couch. That's where I was when I heard him calling my name. "Hmmm? Here in the living room." I yawned, stretched, and sat up.
"Hi. What is for dinner?"
I hadn't even thought about dinner. "Hi. I have no idea." I shrugged and smiled. "What sounds good? Do you want to stay in or go out?"
"Been out all day, why not stay in?" I walked around the couch and knelt to give her a hug. "Missed you."
I settled into his arms. "I missed you too. I love you. Cook or order?" We had hardly cooked at all since we moved in. The thought made me laugh and I wondered what we even had food-wise.
"Do we have anything to cook?" I got up and went into the kitchen to look around. I found some things that I could easily pull a meal out of. "Well, Yeah we have some food to eat. I'll have to make chicken for you."
I followed him. "I like chicken. What can I do to help?"
"Get the potatoes out and wash one or two. How hungry are you?" I turned on the oven.
I haven't eaten since breakfast. Pretty hungry." I got out two large potatoes and scrubbed them. "What next?"
"Then I guess two potatoes. I'm going to pan fry you a chicken breast and make baked potatoes. I'll have salmon. The potatoes need to be prepared for baking." I didn't really feel like explaining the whole process. I was certain if she knew what the plan was so she would be able to do what needed to be done. I smiled lightly and went to find the pans I needed to cook two different types of meat.
I rubbed the skin of the two potatoes with a little bit of olive oil and sprinkled them with salt. I set them on a baking sheet and poked some holes in them with a fork. I waited patiently for the oven to preheat.
I pulled the salmon out and got the chicken out of the bottom of the refrigerator. They were still packaged but I kept them separate. "Want some broccoli with it?" The oven finished preheating and I went ahead and put the potatoes in and set the time for half the time it would take then stole a kiss. "So, did you accomplish your goals today?"
"Ooh. Broccoli would be yummy." I sighed as I watched his actions and moaned into his kiss. I slipped my arms around his waist and snuggled into his chest. "More or less. Did you have a good time with Brad?"
"I'm glad. Always. I was a little shocked to see you at Guitar Center. Were you serious about wanting to learn to play?"
I smiled up at him. "Yeah. I do think it might be fun to learn. Maybe get some singing lessons too. I think I know someone who can teach me." I winked at him and scrunched up my face before erupting into a fit of giggles.
"Oh yeah? Is he cute?"
"Mmmm. Very. Quite sexy actually." I leaned in and kissed him softly. "I might be too distracted to learn anything."
"Hmm. Probably not." I smiled. "If he's too cute you can forget it. You'll be stuck with me."
I giggled and rolled my eyes. I lightly smacked his chest. "Your sexiness is too distracting, but I'll do my best. Hopefully, we'll have time to start soon."
"We should. I smiled and kissed her again knowing we were far from the timer going off and that I would need to start cooking the rest of our meal. "If you say so. Let me know when you're ready and we'll set something up." The timer went off. "I'm in the mood to cook. I got this."
I licked my lips. "Mmmkay. I'm going to go get more comfortable." I slipped out of his arms and headed upstairs to change and grab my phone.
I buzzed around the kitchen putting everything together and cooking what needed to be cooked. I had it all wrapped up and on two plates when she came down in something more comfortable.
I checked my phone and all the plans were running smoothly. I slipped into a pair of pj shorts and a tank top. I pulled my hair into a messy bun and met him in the kitchen. "It all smells amazing. Even the fish."
"Good. Thank you."
"You are welcome. Table? Drinks? Oooh, do we have wine?"
"Yes. You'll want a white, I think I will too."
I smiled and grabbed two wine glasses and took them to the table. I got a bottle of wine out of the fridge and two bottles of water too. I took my time humming to myself. I was determined to be fully present tonight, but I was feeling so scatterbrained. I had my phone in my pocket, hoping I didn't need to look at it. I was so excited about this little party and the gifts I got him. I saw his face and I looked at the bottle of wine that I pulled out and blushed. It was definitely a red. "Oops." I made my way to the fridge to exchange it. (216)
"That was interesting." I looked up at Lizzie and smiled.
"I don't know what is wrong with me." I smiled back at him and took my seat after setting the right bottle on the table.
I just raised a brow at her. "Is there something wrong with you?"
"I just seem very out of it. I feel fine, physically. Mentally I seem to be a mess."
"Why. What's wrong? Can I help?"
I shook my head and then thought for a minute. "Maybe. I don't know. Distract me."
"And how exactly do you propose I do that. We're eating dinner." I poured the wine and picked up my fork. "Salmon is not good when it is cold."
"Fair. Definitely after then." I started absently eating my dinner. It tasted very good. "This is so yummy. Thank you for cooking." I picked up my wine and drank half my glass.
"Sounds like a plan. You'll have to show me what you have in mind, maybe. Thank you. This is very good too."
