The day of Thor's coronation came. The blonde walked down the room almost too proudly, an arrogant smile on his face. On the other side, were Odin on his throne, Frigga standing on the stairs, Loki by her side a step below, and Nolahni and Sif near the steps. All of them were wearing their formal Asgardian attire. Well, all of them except Nolahni who was wearing a dress she used to wear at events while she was still in Novark.
The half-Novarkian watched as Frigga rolled her eyes at her son's behaviour and she chuckled. But upon seeing Loki's facial expression, she reached out to hold his hand as a sign of comfort. He looked down at her and immediately softened, though he was still displeased.
Nolahni glanced at the three men standing on the other side of the stairs, Volstagg, Hogun and Fandral. The latter winked at her and she grimaced, looking immediately towards Thor who was now kneeling down, taking his helmet off. Odin started his speech.
"Thor Odinson, my heir, my firstborn. So long entrusted with the mighty hammer, Mjolnir. Forged in the heart of a dying star. Its power has no equal. It's a weapon to destroy or the tool to build. It is a fit companion for a king. I have defended Asgard, and the lives of the innocents across the Nine Realms. The time of a new beginning. The day has come."
She stopped paying attention for a slight moment. Something was wrong. Something was happening, something ill-intentioned, something dark. That was how she could sense it. "Do you swear to guard the Nine Realms?" She snapped back to reality.
"I swear." Thor answered firmly.
"And do you swear to preserve the peace?"
"I swear."
"Do you swear to cast aside all selfish ambition and to pledge yourself only to the good of the realm?"
"I swear!" He said louder this time, holding his hammer in the air.
"On this day, I, Odin Allfather, proclaim you..." He seemed to freeze for a few seconds. "Frost Giants." He then striked Gungnir upon the ground.
Soon enough, Odin and his sons left room. The ceremony was being canceled due to the sudden attack. Nolahni was left with the four warriors and friends of Thor. Fandral attempted to get her attention multiple times but the only thing on her mind was the attack. How did this happen? How come Heimdall hadn't warned them? Did he not know? But Heimdall sees everything, why didn't he see the Frostgiants coming. They seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, how did they get into the palace?
"I suggest you stop before your ego gets so crushed an ant will be able to step on it." Sif pushed Fandral away from Nolahni, and started walking by her side.
