It's not a love story, but a story about love.
I have nothing to feel
Since I know what it seems
To love you so true and deep
Will only lead to endless tears. We've been played by unexpected time
Together with our needs and past
We create a poem with our favorite line
But the meaning behind it was never asked.Summer: I woke up one morning and I just knew.
Tom: Knew what?
Summer: What I was never sure of with you."People change. Feelings change. It doesn't mean that the love once shared wasn't true and real. It simply just means that sometimes when people grow, they grow apart"
Tell me how to start
Tell me how to move
Tell me how to stop
Tell me how to choose. We've been happy, did we?
Together we smile, or only it's me?
It's my fault to assume and confessed
But I can't, I can't let this feeling forever be kept in my chest.I have nothing to care about
Since I know you're already owned
To see you happy and proud
Will force another story to unfold.Summer: So, are you okay?
Tom: I will be, eventually."Relationships are messy, and people's feelings get hurt. Who needs it?"
"But I will never regret you, or say that I wish I'd never met you, because once upon a time, you were exactly what I needed"
Tom was projecting an idea onto Summer, that she'd be his perfect manic pixie dream girl, when she clearly states in the beginning that she doesn't want commitment. And when his idealistic version of her doesn't pan out he gets bitter.
"People don't realize this but loneliness.........It's underrated."
We shouldn't put people on an idealistic pedestal and then get disappointed when our fantasies don't play out, because then you aren't in love with them, you are in love with the idea of them.
