It's The first mission of the small Girl that came to the Academy a year ago. All the almost 11 year old Umbrella Academy children made their way outside to the car and quickly got in their seats.
Everyone was scared, but no one was as scared as Valerie and everybody could see it. They all tried to calm her down in all different ways. Diego tried telling her they'd go in there and come out in the blink of an eye. Allison told her she'd do something cool with her after the mission. Klaus promised her to be by her side and, after the mission, they'd watch a movie on their little TV they had bought with money they stole from Sir Reginald Hargreeves. Ben said he'd give her his favorite book, so she would have something to distract herself with and so they could talk about it together after she was done reading it. Five just held her in his arms and told her that everything was going to be fine.
Luther didn't try to cheer her up. He doesn't like her and he wasn't shy about showing it. It was so obvious that he didn't like her. Just because of a Number. The other children thought it was stupid to hate the Girl they all saw as a sister just because of an unimportant Number.
It's not like Valerie cared one bit about the fact that Luther did not like her. She was sure that, deep inside of her, she could feel her hate for him grow. But she kept quiet. It was embarrassing, really. Being upset about a stupid number. The Girl, along with her siblings, could only shake her/their heads at him.
Soon they arrived at the location and got out of the car. Number 4 and 5 stood beside the shy Number 0 and kept their place there until they entered the big house where the shootout was in.
The plan was to go in there and stop it. Sounds easy for people with powers. But of course there was a bigger and more action-packed plan that came from Number 1.
He would go in first. As the 'leader' of the family. Then Allison and Diego to distract the shooters. Klaus and Five are supposed to attack them while the others distract them. Ben and Valerie are going to let the Hostage free and lead them out of the dangerous building.
So far everything was Okay. Luther went in with Allison and Diego and began to fight and distract the shooters. Klaus and Five soon joined them. Ben and Valerie quickly went inside and to the Hostages and began to untie them. Just as both of them wanted to let them out, Valerie felt a Hand grab her by the collar of her mission suit and, as she wanted to scream, there was a hand placed over her mouth.
As Five heard the Girl squirming, he turned to look at her but she was out of sight. He looked around the room and saw nothing. As soon as Klaus finished fighting a shooter, he looked at his Brother who was looking around for their Best friend. They both panicked and called her name.
"Valerie!" They both called and as the others finished fighting the other shooters and bringing the Hostages out, they joined them. They all, except for Luther, who just thought about getting out to tell their 'Father' how 'Great' he and his plan was, were scared for the small brunette they called their Sister or their best Friend.
