THIRTEEN: OCEAN GEMS

━━━━━━━      ━━

Getting sand between your feet holds such pleasure and displeasure at the same time. After stepping off the stone stairs, you are met with gritty yellow beige. Staring at your sock in shoes, before taking it off and lightly placing them on the piled grains. Barefoot on the fawn particles, you slowly sink into the dark depths. This uncontrollable force is drawing you downwards, but no, your gazing eyes meet the crystal sharp waves. Oh this ever captivating blue—the lightness that carries white ends—holds such charm that forever enthrals young ones attention. There, you have been drawn to the sparkling jewelry, your feet now meets jems of the sea, water.

━━

Doesn't it feel like an honour, to meet something new at times? You could have come across a cat on the streets, its daring eyes bores into yours. Those grey stripes had stopped you on your movement of footstep. 'Cute,' you might think. Such delicate paws it may have as you softly pet it. Wouldn't it be weird if I said you are honoured to meet the feline? You had the desire to treasure it—to stroke it. And so, you did.

Gusts of wind hit the students as they laid their footprints on the new land. After a three-hour flight, the youngsters finally get to breathe into the crisp air of the island. Backs may be sore but overflowing energy excited the teens, "Oi, 'suki! We're finally in Okinawa!" exclaimed the rooster head.

"Yes, yes Kuroo-kun," the brunette dully looked at him.

The second-years were told to head to their hotel and have a stroll around the city. Despite having them high on enthusiasm, waking up early and taking long rides/flights must have taken a toll out of them. Therefore, the cherry blossom viewing may continue tomorrow or the day after. A familiar boy had his shoulders hunched as a brown blond slapped his gloomy posture hard.

'He really shouldn't release his inner demon right now,' thought Tsuki.

Looking from the sidelines, Tsuki watched the pair bicker at each other, sighing as their three-day trip had already begun. While disappointed students slouched their way to their designated rooms, lowered heads were then brought lit eyes when the teacher announced that they would be walking in desired groups. Such joy could be easily enliven when teachers' orders weren't needed.

"Tsuki-kun, want to pair up?" brown eyes asked.

"Sure, Yaku-kun."

The girl followed closely behind as she pondered the treats she was badgered to buy. Sometimes she wonders how Megumi puts up with him. Though if a bag of sweets is all that's needed to repay the man, she would provide him a monthly pack. The white haired might not think he did much for the young girl, but oh boy does he not know she's the type to cherish the little things.

The annoying can't possibly fill in that empty gap of a parental figure, but Tsuki can't seem to deem him as her friend. She doesn't know where to categorize the blindfold, 'he's definitely more than a stranger,' thought the brown eyed. 'Well, for now, he's 'nice sensei' I guess.'

"Eh?" Tsuki let out a questionable expression. "What are we doing here?"

"Oh you didn't hear?" Tsuki faced the shorter male, "We asked the teachers to have permission to go to the beach, cause someone wanted to play beach ball," Yaku said as his piercing gaze met hazel ones.

"You didn't deny when I asked sensei!" the weird haired retorted.

"Didn't say I did either!"

"But why during a trip?" Tsuki interrupted the defending boy.

"Why not?" they both synced.

Tsuki only deadpanned, "Well have fun I guess, I'll be on the side watching you two miserabily fail," she waved them off.

Hearing some angry mutters before walking away from laid towels. The seaside wasn't as crowded considering it's a weekday. Those tall trees do bring some good shade under the hot sun, Tsuki waddled her way slowly to the other side of the shore with her shoes in hand, watching as her footsteps get imprinted in the sand. 'How tedious.' The long walk was carried with heavy footsteps, each mark left a trail under looming evergreens. This simple activity is somehow relieving as wind gently hits your face. Her concerns brushed along the strand while the invisible patted her head lightly. They say nature helps, but it wasn't the mother that was comforting her, 'it's something else...'

Well, for whatever reason that may be, Tsuki lifted her head to face bright beaming aqua. She didn't know the whereabouts of the sun, but that tiny star sure is doing their job of beautifying the sea. It would be an exaggeration to say it was a glow, but that reflection—it was glowing.

From a normal person's perspective, it might just be a nice view of the shore. But in the eyes of the current female looking, it wasn't just some regular sea water. No, first the series, then the pelagic. 'This is... odd,' and indeed odd it is. Never has the lad ever felt charmed by a sight, this is different from any other vision seen by her. 'Then why...?'

The salted air gradually suffused her lungs, Tsuki watched as the water washed away the sand on her feet, bending slightly to roll up her long slacks. The splashing of the water was so close to the ear, she could hear it so clearly. It was musifying. 'Clear... Everything is clear.' Her eyes widened as she lifted her head to study the scene—her vision broadened. Her mind was so... empty? Empty is seemingly something negative, but this hollowness was something unlike the usual wording.

Tsuki knocked on her head. How idiotic it may sound, but it was a new sight for her. She stared down at the jewel present, it showed the same girl with her hair ends wet. She leaned in close to water level.

*thud*

Tsuki's eyes darted away from the mirroring to see Kuroo trip himself on the sand. Tsuki airily chuckled as she shook her head in dumbfoundedness. The brunette arched her back and was met with the sky. She smiled softly.

It was like it's reflecting the ocean.
