"Right," The Doctor said, immediately jumping into action, "Now, do you know how I can tell that it is not a shark attack?"

Sherlock shrugged, and the Doctor gave him a disapproving gaze.  "Well, um, maybe we're not in a part of the ocean that has sharks?"

The Doctor shook his head.  "Nope, that's not it, but good thinking."

"Could it possibly be..." Sherlock's voice trailed off as he couldn't come up with another reason.

"It's actually quite simple," the Doctor pointed to the body, "The wounds aren't fresh, and there's no blood in the water surrounding him, so obviously the attack wasn't recently.  Based on that information, it still could be a shark attack, but something doesn't add up.  Can you tell me what that is?"

Sherlock examined the water around the ship.  Something did seem strange, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it... He gasped.  It was so obvious!  He couldn't believe he hadn't seen it before.  "It's the noise."

The Doctor nodded.  "Or, more specifically, the lack of.  Now, usually I wouldn't think this was too unusual, but-"

"But the ship is moving!  There's no sound of waves, or wind, or anything!  Isn't there usually loud wind and the sound of the ship cutting through the water when it's moving this fast?"

The Doctor laughed in delight.  "Precisely!  I would think it was practically a ghost ship, except that everyone on board is living, don't worry, I checked."

Sherlock decided not to ask how one checks to make sure people are living, and instead asked, "So what do you think it is?"

The Doctor shrugged.  "I'm not sure, maybe something, maybe nothing, but what I do know is that we need to take a closer look at that body."

Sherlock stared in fascination as The Doctor ordered some of the crew members to haul the body up.  The body was disgusting and bloody and utterly amazing.  He was completely fascinated by the body, and he couldn't wait to see what was going on, even if it was a bit morbid.  He wanted to learn more about this body, and all bodies.  It was all so incredible, finding out what happened to a body!  He had always been smart, and maybe he could use his brain in another way!  This way!

"Alright, just put that man right there, on the floor," the Doctor pointed and the men carrying the body dropped it on the ground and scurried away from the body.

"Now, can ye tell me why exactly there is a mauled and bloody body lyin on the floor of my ship?" a man with an peg leg growled, holding up his hook.

Wow, isn't this a cliche. Sherlock thought to himself, This pirate looks and sounds like every single pirate in everything I've ever seen.

"Right, yes, of course," The Doctor clapped his hands together, "This man here was attacked."

"Bya shark?" Peg Leg asked, "We ain't never seen a shark in this parts of the water."

"Yes.  I mean no.  I mean, not by a shark," the Doctor rambled, "By something else."

"What do ye mean, somethin else?"  Peg Leg snarled and Sherlock took a step back to avoid the wrath of the pirate.

"Well, you see, I'm guessing it's something that came here by accident.  I'm guessing it crash landed here and-"

"Hold on just a moment," Peg Leg interrupted, "Crash landed?  What's goin on here?"

The Doctor didn't respond because he was too busy searching the victim's pockets.  "Aha!" he exclaimed as he pulled out a gold coin, "Perfect!"

"What's so friggin special about a coin?  We got plenty of coins on the ship, why is this one so perfect?"

The Doctor turned to Sherlock and handed him the coin.  "What do you think, eh?"

Sherlock examined the shiny piece of metal, looking closely at the markings on the side.  "This is an English coin," he responded, "so that means this man's from Britain, right?  Does that have anything to do with the attack?"

"Oh, Sherlock, it has everything to do with the attack!  If you put all of the information we've recieved about this man together, we can assume that he came from England, and that's where he was attacked.  So!" he leapt to his feet and snapped his fingers towards the captain of the ship, "Set sail!"
