Matt Murdock limped into the office of Nelson & Murdock, five days later. His stab wound still stung. Claire Temple had done her best to stitch it and although pain had reduced, it refused to completely go away. He had spent two days in his apartment bed, trying to will himself back into circus of life. The abyss he had been thrown into was still staring at him in the face and he couldn't afford to blink.

The next day had been completely absorbed by the trial. It was one of the most popular and infamous trials in recent memory for Matt and everyone else in New York City. Foggy and Matt had represented Peter Parker and had played their role in helping him submit every evidence that had been collected. Plus, victim accounts from forty one adult women had cemented the case strongly in favour of Peter Parker.

Peter had been cleared of all charges and Wilson Fisk had been sentenced to several years of prison.

As soon as Matt entered the office, he met with welcoming voices. There were three people in the office. Matt could identify Foggy Nelson and May Parker. There was the third one, a heartbeat and smell that felt vaguely familiar. It had to be Peter Parker.

Foggy spoke up. "Come in, Matt! They were waiting to see you."

May Parker responded, "Thank you so so much, Mr. Murdock! Without you and Mr. Nelson, Peter would have been doomed."

Matt walked up to them slowly. "It's my pleasure, Mrs. Parker."

Peter Parker stepped up. Matt hadn't had a chance to have a lengthy conversation with the Photojournalist earlier. He had exchanged just formal greetings. And even now, Matt sensed Parker extending a hand of greeting. Matt shook his hands.

"Thank you, Mr. Murdock!"

And just, somehow, Matt's brain found the familiarity in the heartbeat, smell and breathing. He had felt them before. Not in the courthouse, but in the warehouse. He had heard the heartbeat in the final moments as he had limped out of the floor with a damaged body.

Trying to keep his face straight, Matt replied. "You are most welcome, Mr.Parker!"

Or Should I say, "Spiderman"?
