The two storeyed warehouse had a single shutter-door, for entrance and exit. At the top of the warehouse was a terrace of sorts. Actually, there had been a third storey planned for the warehouse but it had been stopped mid-construction. There was an emergency exit at the side. There were enough bushes and trees surrounding the open space of the warehouse. Several wooden crates with goods were outside the warehouse as well and men used them as their vantage points.
There were fifteen men stationed outside the warehouse. In no specific formation, they patrolled the sides, the back and the front of the warehouse at all times. Tonight, however, they had been ordered to be extra careful. If the ship was successfully loaded at 5 AM in the morning, they would all be paid handsomely. With the reward of money metaphorically dangling before their eyes, the men stood alert even at this time of the night.
The two men, situated the farthest from the warehouse heard footsteps. They were squinting into the dark, when a faint rustling in their side made them turn.
At once, a figure sneaked up on them. A lot of kicks and punches later, they lost hold of their firearms. They tried to fight him but he seemed to guess every move of theirs before they made them. One man went down. Soon, the other guy fell too.
The last thing the guy saw before losing consciousness was a man dressed in a maroon suit, with the letter D on his chest and a horned head-case.
