The Partnership

"We're going to help." Quill spoke, entering the meeting room.

Luna gasped and turned to them, "Wh-what?" She wiped her tears away.

"I'm mad. I'm angry. You are partially to blame, but I know it's  not your fault." Quill spoke, clearing his throat. "Thanos needs to be stopped. Teaming up is the only way we can truly stop him. It will be take time to forgive you, but I will work with you, with this team, to stop him."

Luna nodded, smiling softly at him. "I understand. Thank you."

Tony clapped his hands, "Hey! Great news. Now to form a plan."

"Er..Actually, Tony. We may need Quill and his team to help us with something before we plan an attack plan."

"What now?" Tony asked.

Luna took a deep breath and motioned for everyone to sit. "It's Thor and Loki." 

"What about them?" Steve asked as everyone sat down.

"Thanos.. We attacked them too. Before we got to Quills team we hit Thor and Loki on their ship." Her eyes shifted to Banner who looked confused. 

"They are in Asguard." Banner answered.

"No.. Bruce, they're not." She shook her head, remembering the fight. "They're stranded on a ship in space. I don't know what happened on Asguard, but Thor and Loki were with their people on a ship and.." Luna trailed, her eyes shifting to the ground.

"And what?" Steve asked. Luna remained quiet. "And what, Luna?" Steve asked again, raisinig his voice slightly. 

She took a deep breath, "We attacked them. Thanos threatened Thor to get the Space stone from Loki. It almost cost Thor his life. Loki offered it, using Hulk to help fight Thanos." She stopped momentarily and looked to Banner. "That failed and Loki gave it up and then he tried to attack Thanos under false pretenses of pledging his alliance. I stopped his attempted attack and we left them stranded." Luna rushed her explanation, pacing back and forth now, fearing their reactions. 

"What?" Tony, Bruce, and Steve asked together. Bucky remained quiet.

"I can give their last known coordinates, but I figured we could have Quill and his team find them and bring them here." She continued. "They'll.. probably have the same reaction Quill did, understandably, and that's fine." Luna gently placed her thumb over the split lip Quill gave her. "But we need them."

"Luna, wait. Slow down." Bruce spoke. "You're saying I was on a ship with Thor and Loki and have no memory of it?" 

"I.. don't really know what you were doing there. But you were. Just, not as you, as Hulk. I don't.. know much else. I wasn't there to play catch up, I was there to help Thanos." 

"What are the coordinates?" Rocket spoke up, sounding excited. 

Luna looked to him and nodded, "These are the last known coordinates I have on them." She wrote it down and handed him the paper.

"We'll get them." Rocket answered, taking it.

"Wait, we will?" Quill asked.

"Quill, whatever helps stop Thanos, we need to do it. We saw what he did to Knowhere. Who knows what else he will do if he gets all those stones."

"Right." Quill answered. "Lets go."

Quills team stood up and left swiftly, leaving Luna with Bucky, Bruce, Steve, and Tony. Luna took a deep breath, turning her attention to the boys now. She knew there would be questions. Probably many. She stood in silence with them staring her down. She grew uneasy and began to pace again, unsure how this conversation was going to go. This would probably be the thing that got her exiled if she had to guess. 

"You didn't think to tell us Thanos attacked Thor?" Tony questioned.

"What do you want from me Tony?" She questioned, stopping in her tracks. "There's a lot I did that I'm not happy with. You think I wanted to have to tell anyone I attacked my own friends? Your teammates?"

"OUR teammates." Tony corrected her.

"O-Our?"

"Yes. No matter what, you are apart of this team, Luna." Steve answered now.

"I thought.." she trailed off.

"Thought what? That we'd just kick you off the team? No, that's barbaric. We're not like that." Tony spoke quickly. 

"Wait. Guys, why don't I remember this?!" Bruce asked. 

"Thanos hit you pretty hard and knocked you out. Heimdall used the last of his strength to send you into the Bifrost. I'm sure to send you here." Luna answered. "Maybe Hulk is protecting you from what happened on that ship, I don't know, but after you were gone, Thanos killed Heimdall. Then we got the stone, I thwarted Loki's pathetic attempt to harm Thanos and we left." 

"I wonder why they were on the ship with their people in the first place." Steve spoke.

"I don't know.. But I know not many of them were left alive when we were done. I fear Thor and Loki will not forgive me for that." Luna looked down.

"Why?" Bucky asked.

"I had a hand in ending their lives. Using force to get what Thanos wanted. In their world, that's a great crime is it not?" She questioned.

"It can be, yes. But you didn't do it willingly." Tony spoke.

"We have to make them understand that." Steve finished.

Luna nodded, turning to watch as Quills team took off to go rescue Thor and Loki. "Yeah.. Hopefully."

While waiting for Quill to return, Nat, Wanda, and Clint arrived. Nat said her greetings to the boys and hurried to Luna. She wrapped her in a tight hug, refusing to let go for a moment. Luna laughed, hugging her back just as tight. As they broke the hug, she saw Clint and Wanda approaching, warming smiles on their faces.

"Hey there, stranger." Clint teased.

"Wanda, Clint." She smiled.

"It's nice to see you back." Wanda smiled. 

Before they could finish their discussion they were interrupted by the sound of Quills return. They turned their attention to see the ship landing. Luna made her way outside, followed closely by the others. She stood at the front, knowing what was possibly coming her way. She watched as they all exited the ship, meeting eyes with Thor.

"YOU!" Loki shouted, charging at Luna. "If you had just-"

"Brother no!" Thor blocked him from Luna.

"If you had just let me attack Thanos!" Loki continued.

"And what, Loki? Let him kill you? If I had let you die?" She questioned.

"I wouldn't have-" Loki countered.

"Yes you would have, brother." Thor cut him off. "She saved your life."

"But-"

"No, Loki. She saved you." Lunas breath caught when Thor said that. "No matter what happened before, she saved you in the end."

"Fine." Loki spat, glaring at Luna.

"I'm sorry, Thor-"

"Don't. As upset as we may be, we understand. You weren't you." Thor cut her off. "Just.. forgive me if I'm not as friendly for a while."

"Of course." She nodded. "Well, now that everyone is here, shall we go inside and make a plan?"
