Steve and Bucky walked down to the lounge. Bucky felt defeated. Steve gently patted his shoulder and gave an understanding smile. Bucky nodded and headed to one of the couches while Steve made his way to the bar and began pouring them a drink. Tony walked in on them, arching a brow. The disappointment was clear in the room.
"I take it things didn't go well." Tony spoke.
"What makes you think that?" Bucky asked sarcastically.
"Buck." Steve glanced at him. "No, Tony, it didn't. Your sedation didn't exactly help anything."
"Look, we had no clue what we were dealing with. When it comes to Hydra, anything is possible." He looked between the two. "Wanda and Pietro are a perfect example of that."
"She received the serum. She's not a witch." Bucky spat.
"Fair, but we don't know what Hydra could do. You were merely a small step in one direction. We can only wonder the things they could have made if we hadn't taken them out when we did." Tony walked to the bar, grabbing a drink from Steve.
"Hey-" Steve was cut off by Tony.
"Either way, I chose to play the safe card and I'm not sorry." He took a drink.
Steve rolled his eyes and made a third glass, taking one to Bucky. "It's going to take time, Tony. She feels betrayed, not just by you, but all of us. Even though Bucky is a familiar face, it was clear she was torn."
"I never should have left her. I should have fought to bring her with me." Bucky sighed.
"You really think I would have let you?" Steve laughed.
"No, but.." Bucky frowned as his voice trailed.
"Give it time, Buck. She'll come around. You did."
"Not without a fight." Tony narrowed his eyes at them.
Steve chuckled, "Bucky was always a fighter."
Nat walked in, worry clear on her face. "Boys, we may have a problem."
"What?" They all asked.
"It's Luna-" Before she could finish, Bucky had taken off towards her room.

Luna was breathing heavily as tears streamed down her face. She was angry and heartbroken. Hydra had taken one of the few things that meant anything to her in life and she did everything she could to lock that memory away. Bucky mentioning it brought up the memory of the loss of her child. She sat in the corner of her room, her knees tucked against her chest, her face in her knees. She didn't care to see the destruction around her, she only cared to stop the memory replaying over and over in her head.
"Luna!" Her door swung open and Bucky stared at the destruction.
"Go away." Luna cried.
Bucky stared at the broken bed and dresser in the room. "What happened?"
"Bucky, don't."
"No. I'm not leaving you." He kneeled in front of her, placing a gently hand on her arm. "Not again."
"I lost him, Bucky.. After you left, Hydra tried to use me the way they did you.. I refused, I fought back, and they killed him in front of me. It was like I lost my humanity. I was lost for so long." She choked, "Then, when Hydra began to fall apart I fought to find myself again. I wanted to die so bad, but I was left alive and alone. Again.." Her voice trailed.
"You're not alone now.""Aren't I? You have a bond with the people here. I'm merely another 'weapon' for S.H.I.E.L.D." Shaking her head, she looked to him now, "You're just a ploy to get me to comply.."
"No, it's not like that."
"Isn't it?!" Pushing him off of her, Luna rose to her feet. "They'll simply lock me in a cell like the police want to do if I don't comply." She paced around the room.
Bucky caught his balance before he fell from her shove. "Do I look like a weapon?"
"Aren't you?" She turned to him.
"No. He isn't. Neither are you." Steve interjected from the doorway. He stepped in, towards them. "Luna, we want to help you learn to live again. I'm sorry for what Hydra did to you, what they took from you. I-We can't give that back to you, but we can give you a life again."
"And I'll have to come running every time that Furry guy calls right?"
Tony laughed in the doorway. "It's Fury. But I'll have to call him Furry next time I see him."
"Not necessarily. We don't always get called. Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't. It depends on what the mission is. Either way we want to help you. Please, let us." Steve spoke softly.
Luna shifted her eyes between the three. How could she be sure? "I.. don't know."
"Luna, if I could be saved, so can you." Bucky spoke softly, reaching his hand to her. "You trusted me before, please trust me again. You can always be redeemed."
Luna took Bucky's hand, nodding. "Alright, I'll give it a shot."
"Great. Now lets get this mess cleaned up." Steve smiled.
"Yeah.. Sorry about that." Luna finally took in the mess she made.
"Don't worry. There's more where all this came from." Tony spoke in a matter-of-fact tone.
Luna arched her brow, "Is he always this way?"
"Arrogant? Yes." Steve and Bucky spoke together, laughing.
