Chapter 22 The Old Droids

"CRASSSSSH!" The destroyed corpse of a machine, drained of all functionality comes flying out from the second-floor window, shattering all of the remaining glass. As the body hits the ground, a dark cloud forms in the sky casting a blanket of shadow over the city as hail begins to rain down. As the small balls of ice smash into the rooftops and the machine corpses laid out on the ground. "Tink! Tink! Tink!" Leo looks up to the second floor and then stares at the destroyed machine laid before him.

Leo: "We should get inside Lily... So we can be ready for when Caesar has the blueprints. He must be on the second floor. Come on... uh Scrap"

Scrappy drops a crushed metallic skull from her mouth as she hears the call of her name, Leo and Lily then quickly enter the headquarters getting out of the shower of hail, as Scrappy accompanies them.

The heavy rainfall of hail and burning drones showers the city in fire and ice. The machines alerted by the clear breach of their security, all grab arms and march onto the streets.

Anderthal 1: "All drones are destroyed and the high-frequency emitter is down. There is no way to contact The Primordial unless he comes within range of our city"

Anderthal 2: "We are clearly under attack... Have all ground forces guard all exits of the city, mechs and air teams enclose on the emitter and headquarters. We will weed out the infiltrators"

Anderthal 1: "All forces, immediately destroy any unidentifiable beings within the city without hesitation"

V dashes through the city quickly in his activated stealth suit, invisible to the machine's naked eyes. He sees the army of machines gathering onto the street with their massive weaponized mechanical body attachments and mechanical suits. "WHOP! WHOP! WHOP! WHOP!" He looks up as a large mechanical aircraft flies just above him.

V: "Dammit... We really pissed them off if they're doing all this... Can we still manage to pull this off?"

V quickly hides under the frame of a doorway as the loud aircraft hovers just above him.

V: "Everyone, be wary of the air forces, even though you have a stealth suit, these machines may be onto us and have their thermal vision activated to spot any differences in the environments. So when faced with any machines in your presence remain completely still to avoid detection. Everyone without a stealth suit, return to the tunnels immediately and exit the city. Get out now before they reach your location."

R3D: "Bree Oooop!"

Viktor: "We're heading to the tunnels now... Sorry about the drones Mr V, I followed all of your instructions but their system began to detect a breach and gave me only 10 seconds before they locked us out entirely and sent forces to our location. So I panicked and destroyed all the drones systems by overheating them with the virus you gave us instead. To give R3 enough time to turn the emitter off"

V: "I expected their security to be of a high calibre, good job kid. You did the best you could I'm sure... But now we need to hurry this up and you guys need to get out of here... NOW! Head to the agreed meet up at the cave once you've made it out of the city"

R3D: "Bree Oop"

R3D begins to lead the children out of the security room, but then suddenly R3 notices that a group of armed machines were swiftly heading their way. Already closely approaching the entrance to their tunnel.

R3D: "Bree Oooop.... Oooop"

V: "What is it?"

Axel: "He says they can't make it to the tunnels, machines are fastly approaching their entrance back into the tunnel"

V: "Well you guys know the plan, runners you're up"

Raine: "Finally, this is what I came to prove... I'll lead them away, you guys get to the tunnels"
