chapter twenty eight - day twenty eight

i don't think you will

ever fully understand

how you've touched my life

and made me who i am.

liam took louis to an ed sheeran concert a couple months after the incident. they went back to america, along with harry, niall, and niall’s new boyfriend, oliver. (harry wasn’t too happy about that, but eddy made him feel better in the shower oh)

they got third row seats, since of course they were special guests.

louis was ecstatic at the concert, singing along to every song and jumping up and down and screaming along with all the fan girls.

of all the comrades that e'er i had

they are sorry for my going away

and all the sweethearts that e'er i had

they would wish me one more day to stay

but since it falls unto my lot

liam embraced louis and kissed the top of his head as they swayed.

“i love you so much.” liam whispered.

louis didn’t – and couldn’t – hear, but he kissed liam’s throat out of instinct.

“now, let’s end this beautiful night with something amazing…” ed grinned, girls squealed – and harry too.

ed played through ‘thinking out loud’ in acoustic. liam felt louis sigh against his neck and collarbones.

at the end of the song, ed grew a mischievous look on his face as the lights dimmed.

“alright, now let’s have a serious talk.”

everyone became quiet and whispers flooded the building. louis looked up at liam with a confused look. liam ignored it and smiled.

“louis tomlinson? are you out there?” ed asked, despite his knowledge of louis being there.

harry called out and pointed to the small man in liam’s arms. all attention turned to them.

“ah yes i see you now,” ed ran his hand through his hair, “liam payne, the bloke standing right next to him, has an announcement to make.”

liam inhaled deeply, exhaled, and turned to louis. louis let go of him, looked at ed, then at the crowd and then back at liam with a gasp. liam was already down on one knee in front of him.

louis’ eyes filled with tears, his cheeks flaming pink.

“louis tomlinson, would you do me the favor and marry me?” liam asked, taking a box out of his pocket.

“this is way too cheesy, i’ll punch you if you don’t say yes lou.” ed spoke, making the crowd laugh quietly.

when liam opened the box, a ring pop was inside.

louis laughed through his tears, “yes, of course, you twat.”

as soon as liam stood, louis hugged him tightly. they kissed, making everyone cheer. those few homophobes got a slap from harold and were sent on their way.

liam placed the ring on louis’ left ring finger with a grin.

“wait, is this candy?” louis asked, looking at the ring pop closely.

“yep, blueberry flavored.”
