Take time to experience the past before it catches up to your future.

Steve had taken a blue Chevy truck from the hospital's parking lot. Natasha sat in the passenger seat, and I was in the back fidgeting with my shield bracelet. I have been trying to keep control of my powers, but with all the emotions that I have been feeling lately, it has been impossible.

"Sammi? Are you okay?" Steve asks as he looks at me through the rearview mirror. He has been worrying about me a lot more lately.

I look up at him, "I'm fine. Where are we going?"

"We are going to try to unlock this USB," Natasha says. I have not fully trusted Nat since the mission, but I would not have been alive today if she was not someone I could fully trust. I held the arrowhead around my neck and started to think about Barton. I have not talked to him in almost three months, but I know he is always here for me even if I couldn't see him. My thoughts were interrupted by Steve parking the truck in a mall's parking lot.

"Really? A mall?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

Steve smiles, "Come on. Let's go." The three of us headed inside of the mall searching for a place to unlock the USB when Steve spotted an Apple Store. "We can take it in there. Samantha, go wait for us at the food court or somewhere. Just keep your bracelet visible, and your phone on. I'll call when we are done here. Be careful." He tells me as he and Nat head to the Apple Store.

"I will," I tell Steve. I watch them go into the store, and head to the food court to get some greasy, fast food. I went to a pizza place and got two pieces of bacon pizza and a bottle of Coke. I went to an empty table in the farthest corner away from everyone. I started to eat when I felt a familiar emotional wave of energy come into the air. I looked around, but I still did not recognize anyone.

"Hello dear. Are you done with your food?" A little, old lady asked me pointing to my tray of trash. I handed her the tray, and when our hands touched I felt an emotional wave of energy once again. "Are you okay, sweetie?"

"Yes. Thank you, ma'am." I say as I stand up. "I just need to find my father and aunt. I forgot that I was supposed to be meeting them." I ran through the food court and sensed the emotional energy wave getting stronger as I got closer to the Apple store. I realized that it was Rumlow and his agents. I tried to find Steve and Nat, but I had no luck. I held onto my arrowhead and felt all of the energies around me until I found Steve's. I ran straight towards it. I found Steve and Nat going down the escalator, but I was too far to catch up.

"Has anyone found them yet?" A voice behind me said into his walkie-talkie. I recognized him from the mission with Rumlow. I walked over to the guy, and I fell into him, by accident.

"Oh, I am so sorry sir. I am such a klutz. Please excuse me." I tell the guy as I take his walkie-talkie from his pocket. He just smiled at me and headed towards the food court. I ran as fast as I could back to the escalator. I listened into the walkie-talkie, but it was silent, and that is when I saw it. Rumlow was coming up about to pass Steve and Nat, but they had already come up with a plan. I got onto the down escalator and saw Nat kiss Steve which made Rumlow turn his head away from them. As he passed me, I kept my head down. Steve and Nat went outside to the truck, and I ran to them.

Steve saw me, and he yelled my name, "Samantha!" I ran to him, and he hugged me. "I was so scared that Rumlow caught you. Now, we have to go. Get in."

I got into the truck, and asked a question, "Where are we going?"

"We are heading to New Jersey," Nat says.

The drive to New Jersey felt like forever. I had texted Clint but got no response. He would reply sooner or later, so I decided to take a nap. Ever since I had taken full control of my powers. embracing every element, my dreams have been more like future visions. This one was strange, but I could tell it was important.

I was at some sort of training camp for the Army in what looked like World War II by the uniforms that the soldiers were wearing. I started to walk around, but I saw a few people that I recognized. I saw Peggy Carter, Dr. Abraham Erskine, and a very small, scrawny Steve. I realized that this was before Steve had received the serum. My dream took me through Steve's journey which I did not understand why until I met him. I met the famous Bucky Barnes. He was Steve's childhood best friend who had been drafted into the war before Steve. I watched as they fought alongside the rest of The Howling Commandos. At the end of my vision, I saw Bucky fall from the train. I felt every part of Bucky's death in my dream.

"BUCKY!" I screamed as I was forced awake. Steve and Nat both turned around to look at me.

"Are you okay?" Nat asked.

"What did you say?" Steve asked.

I sat up and felt the seat that I was in to make sure that I was back into the real world. "I am okay. I just had a dream. I watched your life, Dad. I saw Peggy, Dr. Erskine, and you before and after you got the serum. I watched as you rescued The Howling Commandos and Bucky. I saw everything until Bucky fell from the train and died." I saw as tears filled up my eyes.

Steve looked down, "I am so sorry that you had to see that. I wish I could have saved you from that. It was just a dream. It doesn't matter now. Now let's go. We have five minutes until we arrive.

The next five minutes went by fast. Steve turned into an empty field. We all got out, and I was instantly hit by a very strong, powerful energy wave. I fell to the ground, and I recognized the soil, the smell of the air, the water that used to flow here, and the fire that was burned here. Steve struggled to help me get up when he finally told Nat where we were.

"This is an army training base. It was the base that I trained at in World War II. Everything feels the same. Besides that building." Steve points to one lone building. "That is an armory, and it is too close to the barracks."

The three of us headed into the building, and soon realized that it was the first S.H.I.E.L.D base. Peggy Carter and Howard Stark founded it after Steve went into the ice. We walked into a data room that was filled with computers. Steve and Nat walked up to the main computer as I walked slowly. I could feel a negative emotion in the air, but could not tell where it was coming from. As I caught up to Steve and Nat, they put the USB into the plug. The computers all lit up, and a face came onto the screen.

"Why, is that Captain America?" The face said. "It has been a while."

Steve's face turned to anger, "Zola. How are you alive?"

"Well, after you and your team defeated HYDRa. I was recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D to help them in their intelligence division. I had rebuilt HYDRA within the very organization that was created after their defeat. After I had found out about my illness, my mind was placed into these computers while HYDRA still grew, killing many leaders." Zola says as a picture of Howard Stark appears on the screen. Steve hit the screen with his shield. "Well, my Captain, I was also part of the Winter Soldier program." Before any of us could ask Zola any questions, there was an explosion. I was thrown to the side where I hit my head and blacked out. While I was blacked out, I only saw one symbol. It was a circle with three silver stripes and a red star in the middle. It reminded me of Steve's shield's symbol, but I knew it was important. I tried to reach for the symbol, but then I heard a voice.

"I am so sorry for coming unannounced, Sam. I had nowhere else to bring them." The voice said. I forced my eyes open, and I saw Steve, nat, and Sam Wilson standing over me.

"Where am I?" I asked, trying to sit up.

"Samantha, take your time. We are safe. Sam gave us refuge in his home." Steve says as he helps me sit up.

"Okay. Now, will someone tell me what happened?" I asked as Sam handed me a bottle of water.
